Kudos to Munchkin!

This toy was a lot of fun. My son dropped it plenty of times and broke the battery cover twice. That must happen often because there's specific instructions on the Munchkin site about contacting them regarding that issue. They replaced it promptly - and for free - both times.

Perfect toy for music lovers like my son

5

This is a great toy for parents of music lovers like my son is. The shape is fantastic too because he can pick it up very easily and it is not heavy or awkward to hold. My son plays with this toy a lot and it teaches him about music colors and shapes. It is very educational and I recommend it to all parents of toddlers as well as infants and older kids.

My family received the Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube in a religious ceremony welcoming the young babies of the families. Naturally, my child was interested in this product as it produces a wide variety of different noises. My child by the way was just a few months below one year old. Well, approaching her first birthday, she became completely absorbed by the Munchkin Mozart Magic cube. As a parent it is really fun to watch my own daughter enjoy the music. When she is having fun i am having fun (I feel this is true for all parents). It is particularly comical to see one's little child move to the groove and attempt a dance. This toy is without doubt worth the price tag (although we received ours free), especially when one considers the price tags of other similar toys in the market. Now this toy is not without issues, unfortunately. This toy is in dire need of a volume knob as the noise level is enough, at times, to make the grown ups a bit irritated. In addition (and most importantly), it seems to be even a bit too noisy for the children. Being able to adjust the volume just seems to make sense but apparently it was skipped in the design process.

Both my kids loved the Mozart magic cube!

We got this for my son when he was born (he is 3 1/2 now, time flies!) and I immediately LOVED it. I am a piano teacher, and also play the guitar and cello, so I love the ability to isolate the instruments and then add them back in to the different songs. It also has very pleasant classical sounding music, rather than the obnoxious toy noise that so many toys have now. It does light up, but not in an obnoxious way, more in an engaging way that keeps my youngest (1 yr) interested. We have a slightly older model than the one pictured but the features are the same. It plays beautiful music, our first one actually quit working (after a couple of years of MUCH use) and we had to replace it immediately because my son was SOBBING. His little sister uses it now, incessantly, so I can honestly say that this toy has been a must-have at our house for YEARS! I think the introduction of classical music at an early age is wonderful too!

We LOVE our Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube!

The Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube was the first and only toy item added to our baby registry and we absolutely love it.  Two and a half years later, the original batteries are still installed & it is still being played with regularly by our two children!  I also use it in my music lessons, as I am a music instructor.  The six sides each have a different instrument button to push.  They can be added or subtracted to produce an individualized sound created by baby!  It is great for all ages.  A young baby is attracted to the bright and bold colors as well as the nice sound it emits.  They can learn motor skills while rolling this around on the floor learning to crawl.  Helps with fine motor skills as well by pushing the buttons & switching on/off.  My toddler loves playing games with it as well, such as "name the instrument" and using it as a die to take turns rolling on the floor.  Older children can use it for music games as well, as I have done in my classes.  There are a great variety of Mozart compositions to which children can add or subract the various instruments.  The composition arrangements are nice, very pleasing to the ear of little ones.  Another nice feature is that it doesn't continuously play music like other toys.  Interaction is a must for it to make sounds.  It's just so much fun!  We love it as much as the children do!! It also makes a great gift, especially coming from a musical gift-giver!  We've suggested this to lots of friends as well.  If I had to suggest something to enhance the Mozart Magic Cube, it would be that there are settings for the volume.  It's either on/off with one volume level.  Other than that, the item is a perfect toy!

My son got the munchkin mozart magic cube for his first birthday.  At first it did not interest him too much but he got into it later on.  It is really neat though.  All the instruments play different sounds (obviously).  Each side of the cube represents a different instrument.  They light up as the tune plays.  You can press as many or as few of the sides of the cube as you like.  They will all play together in harmony.  But the neat thing is they do not all play at the exact same time (like every beat of the song just as the different instrument).  They only play when their part is (like a real band).  And the lights flash as they play.  You just hit the side of the cube again to get it to stop playing if you do not want one of the sides you hit to continue.  You can press the symphony side and it will all play at once.  all in all it is a really really great invention that kept mom happy too.

Mozart Cube is great introduction to music for babies

We received this as a Christmas gift for my daughter last year and after a little over a year, it is still being played with.  She was 6 months old when we got it and just last week she went and got it off of the shelf and pushed the sides of the cube to hear the music play.  My 3 1/2 year old likes it too.  He can now identify by sound the different instruments playing.  He is very musical by nature, but this has been fun for him to learn the different sounds.  I like it too since it is different than just the normal baby songs and lullabies.  Mommy needs a change every now and then!  It is nice that there are a number of different songs and that you can add or remove an instrument one at a time.  The only thing that I would like is a volume selector.  Most other toys seem to have a loud and soft setting, but I haven't been able to find anything except the on/off switch.  Am I missing something?  In any case, great gift we received.  Also, the lights are good because babies love flashing lights.

Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube is a decent buy.

I purchased this online for my niece on her first birthday. Mozart? Instrumentals? What's not to like? Well, when it arrived I realized it was really heavy. She got a lot of use out of it so it's still a good deal but I didn't end up buying one for my son because of how heavy it was. It is well made which would probably attribute to the weight of it but for a baby so young it is not really practical to expect them to play with something they can barely lift off the ground. I may perhaps buy it for him when he's a bit older though. Classical music is great for brain development in children. We listen to it often in our home. All of the different melodies utilize different areas of the brain that aren't used in processing the music that plays on the radio these days.   If you're buying this product for a 3 year old, go for it. If you're buying it for an infant or very young toddler, I say wait.

The Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube is great for babies!

The Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube was purchased for my son when he was little. This was his all-time favorite toy. He loved pressing the buttons and hearing all sorts of different music play. He would play with this toy for as long as he could. We put this toy away when he outgrew it, knowing that any future children we had would also love playing with this toy. When we had our second child, we pulled this out when she was little and she loved it just as much as my son. This toy is perfect for small children. The buttons are so big and easy to press that they pick up on it very quickly and can play all by themselves. The music is great and hearing and learning about the different instruments is very educational. The bright colors are great for little kids. The corners are not sharp and are covered in rubber, so there is no getting hurt on this toy. It is also very durable. I can't tell you how many times this toy has been dropped and it still works perfect, just like the day it was bought.
