Munchkin Deluxe Wipe Warmer —

My husband and I took a birthing class and the first thing our teacher had us do is say what we registered for. Everyone registered for a wipe warmer and she told us that this was the biggest waste of money. They dry out too easily which wastes at least 1/2 a pack of wipes and that babies really don't mind if the wipes are cold. If anything, it's better to use warm wash cloths. Now that I have mentioned what the experts have suggested, i will give my personal opinion from my own experience since others feel that is what my review should really be about. I not only have my own child, but have worked at a daycare facility and babysat many others who have had wipe warmers of their own. They in my experience and in my friends experience have always dried out at least half of the wipes that you put in there and they and I followed the directions to the letter. I'm sorry if I sound upset, but I didn't enjoy the comment below and felt the need to add my own opinion.

In response to kjdennen's comment from Oct 15, 2009 at 7:37AM:

I have used one in the past and it dried out at least 1/2 the wipes I used every time. I just thought it would be better to mention what the teacher said in our class. The class was taught in the hospital by the head nurse who has many children of her own and I take what people with a medical degree say seriously. There is no need for you to comment on my opinion because it is just that...my opinion. If you have your own thoughts, write it in your own review and not on something I wrote.

Just like we don't need television, I sure am glad they invented it. Wipe warmers aren't necessary, and if you want one, I would suggest yard sales. I found a brand new, still in the package wipe warmer for $5. It works perfectly and I only put in about 1/3 of the wipes at a time to prevent any drying out. We aren't rich either but we do manage to get some helpful yet not necessary items at yard sales and second hand stores.

Also, I would not use someone else's opinion on an item as your own, unless you yourself have tried it and feel the same way. Telling someone that you don't like something when you haven't even tried it is very unfair. From the way you talk it sounds like your birthing coach completely ruined your view of the wipe warmer. They actually aren't half bad. Now those little mittens that go over the hands to prevent baby from scratching himself, completely pointless.
