Most HelpfulI picked up some Mucinex on the recommendation from a co-worker. I had a really stuffy head, chest congestion and a cough. I had lots of sinus pressure and the fun that goes along with that (e.g. headache, swelling).
The Good
After taking a pill it took about 20 minutes for the pressure in my...
Most HelpfulI didn't know anything about Mucinex DM other than the advertisements featuring a gruesome green guy called Mr. Mucus (ewww!). If I hadn't paid attention to a television ad one night last week, I would have thought that Mr. Mucus was selling toys to children, not medicine for adults.
It was good timing when I saw the advertisement for Mucinex DM because I just started fighting a nasty cold and wanted immediate relief. My chest congestion and nighttime cough were keeping me up and when Momma's not happy, ain't no one happy in our house.
I have pretty much tried every over-the-counter cold...
review »I feel that Mucinex DM is the best over the counter medicine available on the market today. My whole family uses this medication for colds, allergies, etc. I first became aware of this product because my family Doctor advised that I get some for my seasonal allergies. This product helped with sinus congestion, pain and pressure-as well as coughing and chest congestion. I had my son try some for his allergies, and he said it really helped him also. This product costs a little more than other medicines in this category, but you only have to take it every 12 hours. If you bargain shop, you can usually...
review »I'm not particularly susceptible to colds, but once I have one, it invariably invades my sinuses and my chest. And, that brings us to now.
Maybe it was that flight back from LaGuardia last weekend. Spirit Air sure knows how to pack the plane. A couple of days later I felt the classic symptoms of a summer cold. I felt achy, warm and glassy eyed. I hate this feeling. And, I knew that while the mild fever would pass in a day or two, I would soon find this cold settling in my sinuses and lungs.
By Wednesday morning my sinuses were stuffed and my chest congested. Coughing had kept...
review »My daughter's doctor diagnosed her with pneumonia and strongly suggested she purchase Mucinex. My daughter was trying to comply; wanting to be clear of the congestion. After spending $44.01 total she was still congested. The people at Mucinex refused to reimburse her for the useless product. One of the employees used "we have been bought out by another company and cannot reimburse anyone" as an excuse for poor customer support. My daughter really could not afford to throw away $44.01 on a useless product so we are all sorely disappointed in Mucinex.
My adivce? Don't spend one dime on Mucinex...
review »I only get sick in the early fall. I heard about Mucinex DM and thought it sounded like what I was looking for, so I gave it a try. BIG mistake! It may have reduced my coughing slightly, but it did nothing for my congestion. However, what it did do was make me feel like everything was moving in slow motion. I couldn't focus, drive or walk a straight line for the next 24 hours. Worst feeling ever. I would definately NOT recommend Mucinex DM.
I tried this product twice now and both times it has never done anything to help with my symptoms or to make me feel even an ounce better. I have chronic bronchitis and I asked a pharmacist for his recommendation to help with my coughing and chest congestion. He told me to try mucinex dm because it works fast and efficiently. Wow was he wrong as ever! Maybe my body doesn't work with this medication but it did absolutely nothing for me. After I took it, I didn't feel any chest relief and it didn't break up the mucus at all. I would not recommend this product.
I am rarely sick. But when I get a cold or flu, it always affects me the same way. An Annoying drip, congestion with that difficult wheezy breathing, and coughing fits that sometimes I can't control. I hate it!
Last time I was sick, I tried Mucinex DM. Supposedly it works well on congestion, is a powerful expectorant and helps with the cough. Well, these claims are true!
I took my first dose and within 45 minutes, my chest congestion was clearing up so I could breath without feeling like my lungs were coming out. The post-nasal drip was under control and my cough was productive so...
review »Tried this product after the recommendation from my family doctor. I usually have a lot of problems once I get a cold and most often will develope bronchitis or pneumonia by the time everything is said and done. Due to having high blood pressure and diabetes, there are a lot of OTC medications that I cannot take. And if I use prescription meds I am usually on 2 or 3 until the illness runs its course. This product handles all my symptoms which usually clear in about 2-3 days when taking. Started using this over 2 years ago and have not had any further problems with developing additional...
review »I have tried Mucinex on several occasions when I had a head or a chest cold or perhaps both. In the winter I often get hit with one of those combo viruses where you feel like somebody smacked you in the head and it puffs to the size of a Pilates ball. In the spring and summer, oh boy, I am so lucky!!! I always get hit with the motherload of allergies every March and August. Don't ask me what those allergies might be, because I just don't know and I really can't tell you, but I often use Mucinex as a temporary relief until the air gets cold and the issues are different. You barely feel...
