Mucinex DM was suggested to me by a friend who is a doctor.  He suggested trying it before trying to get in to see him, as in our area, the docs were not prescribing antibiotics for the flu that had hit our area.  I tried this in November and found I my nasal passages cleared few hours after taking a dose with a large glass of water.  Don't forget the water. Mucinex DM worked great for me. Live in Houston Tx and we recently had some particles in the air that really got to me. I had serious congestion and a horrible cough. Immediately after taking Mucinex DM, my coughs became more productive in that mucas just didn't stay stubbornly stuck in my throat like it had so many times before. I usually get this cough about once a year and before Mucinex it lasted about a month! Now it last about a week maybe a week and a half if its a bad one. My whole family loves the results they get with Mucinex DM.  It is very fast working and lasts for 24  hours.  We usually only have to take one to two pills for it to work for a full 24 hour day.  This product is not only good for allergies but any kind of congestion.  My son gets bronchtis alot.  After two doses of Mucinex DM he is showing drastic improvement.  This is one of the few products out there that we have taken where there are no side effects.  I would recommend Mucinex DM to anyone with any type of… read full review »

OK...so I had my flu shot...wash my hands...use those wipes on grocery carts...but I managed to get the flu last week anyway!!! When I called my physician to see what else I could do he said try Mucinex for the respiratory symptoms. I got sick while out of state I had pneunomia last year and was afraid of getting it again.  I called my doctor to see if he could call something into the pharmacy.  My doctor recommended mucinex. I have been using Mucinex for a few years now and have always had good results.  In fact, a few times between the Mucinex and a Netipot I was able to avoid taking antibiotics.  Before, whenever I got a cold or sinus problem it always turned into a respitory infection or worse.  Mucinex definitely helps to relieve the congestion.  It's not a cure all but it does help in an overall… read full review »
