I had wanted to visit this Memorial on a previous vacation, but could not justify the lengthy out of the way driving to get to this single attraction. However, I had an event to attend in South Dakota, so we decided since we were so close we had to extend our stay in order to drive over. Yes there was lots of driving in the middle of not too much to look at. But it was an amazing masterpiece. I think it would have been cool to see it lit up at night, but we had gotten there early in the day and didn't feel like hanging around longer. One thing I would recommend, is to actually follow their numerical trail, we went in the reverse order for some reason, and ended up doing alot of uphill stair climbing. We didn't realize it until we were half way around that the other was straight walking! But I would recommend you visiting this site if you are ever in the area.
