We took our family vacation to South Dakota last summer. It ranks as one of our best vacations ever! Our kids ranged in age from 15 down to 4 and no one complained or had a bad time. We ended up going to Mount Rushmore 2 times. We were there at opening time one day and did the hike and watched the movie and looked at everything. I think we spent about 3 - 4 hours there. Then we went back to see it in the evening. My daughter who was 4 at the time cracked us all up because she kept pronouncing it Mount Mushmore. There are so many family activities to do in this area of South Dakota. We went to Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial, the Needles, and also to the Badlands. I would highly recommend this to anyone. We had a great time and the kids still talk about visiting Mount Mushmore!
