Finding more natural, earth friendly products for our home is a constant battle. Usually when I come across a new one I'm forced to decide between convenience and luxury or nauralness and earth-friendliness. I'm happy to report that Mrs. Meyer's Fabric Softener, Lavender Scent takes away the compromise. After using it, my laundry was deliciously soft and still had a lively scent to it. Be warned though, that unlike the chemical-rich, unnatural fabric softeners that have a sometimes-overpowering scent that lingers for weeks on end, Mrs. Meyer's Fabric Softener in Lavender has a very delicate scent. I was actually disappointed when I first took the load of laundry out of the dryer because the smell that had filled the laundry room during the drying cycle seemed to have disappeared from the laundry itself. It wasn't until several days later that I took a towel out of the linen closet and shook it open from its fold that I caught a whiff of the subtle lavender scent. It's a very soft scent, but still wonderful.

I had tried various Mrs. Meyer's products in the past, but had never tried the Lavender scent until picking up  bottles of the laundry detergent and fabric softener. Oh my, the scent is addicting. My husband and sons are all sensitive to strong smells, especially my husband. I normally purchase unscented or "Free" laundry products for that reason. That was fine by me. I think laundry products are scented much too strongly anyhow. My usual routine was using unscented detergent and an unscented dryer sheet, with an occasional use of fabric softener (also unscented). The dryer sheet was only used for static control, so when my latest fabric sheet purchase disappointed me, I ran a load with these Mrs. Meyer's products. This was such a nice change! I'm telling you, it makes folding laundy much more tolerable when it has such a soft, fresh scent! And yes, the static was not a problem. I now use whichever High Efficiency laundry detergent I have on hand, along with Mrs. Meyer's Lavender scented Fabric Softener. I find it more affordable if I stock up on it by purchasing a case of 6 (with free super saver shipping!) through Amazon.com.
