Mr. Darcy's Diary by Amanda Grange is based off of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice and is the story told from Fitzwilliam Darcy's point of view. I have never really been interested in the Jane Austen books until I saw the movie Pride & Prejudice. I had heard all the "hype" about Jane Austen books and then after watching the movie which I loved, I decided to read the book. After reading Pride & Prejudice I was drawn into the story and wanted more from it than Pride & Prejudice offered me. So while browsing the bookstore I came across Mr. Darcy's Diary and was immediately drawn to it. I have never read a book from the opposite point of view such as this, but it was wonderful! Amanda Grange did a lovely job of adding conversations and getting into the mind of Mr. Darcy and details surrounding his life when Elizabeth was not around. It begins before he meets Elizabeth and ends after their wedding. Although its not perfect, it is one of the best alternatives written by other authors in regards to the Jane Austen books. It is lighthearted and funny. A most enjoyable and quick read. Once I started I was not able to put the book down!
