Mr. Coffee 12 cup programable Review

This coffee pot offered everything I needed. I bought it about 3 months ago and am ready to trash it right now! It was a fantastic price for under $25 and I could smell my coffee when I woke up in the morning. I also love the fact that you can see how much coffee is in the pot. Most coffee mfg's are making the pot so that we can't see how much coffee is left and I did not want one like that. Nothing could be worse than getting 1/4 cup of coffee when you are expecting a full cup. I also loved the clock and timer in green neon so that I can see it at night. I especially love the auto turn off after 2 hours. That is great! It also has the feature of getting a cup of coffee while it is still brewing, I just can't remember the name of it right now. It has a little lever on it to stop the coffee from dripping, when you take the pot from underneath it. I have never used that feature because I am never awake when it is brewing. I always set the timer and wake up after it has finished brewing. Believe me the aroma of a good, fresh brewed coffee can  always wake me up with a smile on my face.

Now here comes my problem. When you take the pot out to pour your coffee, it drips about 3 to 4 times....every single time. We have all been very careful not to bump it and cause it shake or anything else. It does not take much movement at all for it to start dripping. This is so frustrating, that we have to wipe off the burner every time we pour coffee. The next time I purchase a coffee maker....and I don't think it will be very long, we will not be getting a Mr. Coffee. One last thing, when we take out the basket with the used filter to throw away the coffee grounds, it drips and drips and drips! We have learned not to empty the pot first because it is going to make a big mess.

My friend bought this very same coffee maker right after I did and is having the exact same problem that we are. Buy at your own risk. We have a love hate relationship with it. But, I'm getting ready to end it. I'm tired of cleaning up after a coffee maker!! LOL
