Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Pads —

I bought these because my husband leaned some deliveries on the wall, and the deliveries were dirty enough to leave marks.  These marks would not come off with just soap and water, so my mom suggested to try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.  I'm happy to say that it worked, but I wouldn't say it will work for everything.

How it works
It's very simple to use.  All you do is take one out of the box, run it under water, squeeze it out, and have at it!  Basically you scrub the spots on your walls until the smudge, dirt, or mark is gone.  Sometimes you have to scrub only once or twice really lightly, but other smudges take more muscle and time to clean up.

The smudges were gone
After cleaning the mess the deliveries left behind, I went all over the entire house looking for marks and found a lot of little things that have bugged me over time.  It worked well on most of them, but cannot clean some of them if they are two deep or scratched into the wall.

Why it's not magical
The truth is, the product seems to basically be a sponge full of a powerful soap.  I have no doubt that if I had some of that type of soap in the house I could have cleaned everything with the same effect.  The Magic Eraser simply makes it more convenient.

Should you buy it?
After this use, I decided it's a good idea to keep it around the house but I would rather use it once every 6 months or so to clean smudges all at once rather than using it every day that things happen.

If you are selling your house, you should buy a dozen of these and just have at it on all the walls and ceilings of your house.  I even managed to get rid of some light mold in the bathroom.  Your house might even sell better if you use these before hand!

I thought the same thing as you did about this product containing a cleaning chemical of some sort, just for the record, it contains NO soap/cleaners of any kind. The material is simply a very fine abrasive, and that's how it rubs off the stains. We think these are great! It removed crayon from wall paper, and soot from drywall, that no soot cleaner or other kind of cleaning product would touch. And, the plus, is it's very safe to use, since it has no cleaning chemicals!
