Mr Clean Magic Eraser, Extra Power —

When I hear of a new "miracle or magic" product I'm always skeptical.  But, in the case of  Mr Clean Magic Eraser, Extra Power, I had the opportunity to see them work before I had ever heard of them.

We were having dinner over some friends' house.  After a long and satisfying meal we all started clearing the table and bringing the dishes into the kitchen.  The kitchen showed all the evidence of a couple of hours of some heavy duty cooking.  The black ceramic cook top was a mess and I was glad it wasn't mine.  I loath cleaning my own cook top, especially when there's some really badly burned on crud staring up at me.

But, when it was time to clean this mess my friend took out a little white sponge, wet it and started wiping the cook top clean.  With no soap or powders or polishes the cook top was clean in moments.  She then went over it with a paper towel and it was black and shiny again.  Of course I had to ask, "What is that thing?"

Mr Clean Magic Eraser, Extra Power

Well of course in no time I had a box of four in my hands.  Examining  this innocuous looking sponge I was intrigued and kept asking questions about it.  Mrs. Xeno was amused.  She knows how easily engaged I can be on some of the strangest subjects.  Our hostess just took one out and gave it to me and said, "try it yourself, bet you buy a box tomorrow."

The next morning after making some bacon and eggs for breakfast I remembered the Mr Clean Magic Eraser.  So I wet it and started to clean the cook top and my dark speckled granite counters.  Sure enough they were clean in no time.  These little (4 1/2"x2 1/2"x 3/4") sponges are indeed magic.

Of course I've since bought them several times and have found them very useful in every room of the house.  Other than high gloss plastics they seem to work on all surfaces in the house.

My Viewpoint

At $4.99 for a box of four it's hard to imagine a reason for not buying them.  They last about a week of consistent use before they break down and get thrown in the garbage.

If you hate cleaning up the kitchen,  this is a product I  highly recommend.

I think they're made from baking soda. So if they get a little dry, sprinkle some on!

I have seen so many good reviews of this product but I still haven't tried it. Next time I head to the store, I'm definitely picking one up!

I love these too! We started using them regularly after one "artistic" moment my child had with a crayon and a wall. Entertaining review.
