Mr Clean Magic Eraser Review

MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER CLEANING PADS! I cannot believe I have found something that does most every cleaning job I have ever had without chemicals and without a mess. The uses are endless. The cost is minimal. The results are impressive!

I first discovered these miracle erasers several years ago when they were first introduced. Wanting to complete my cleaning tasks with as few chemicals as possible, I searched the cleaning products at the local grocery store and found the Mr Clean Magic Eraser Cleaning Pads. I remember them to be sold in a single pack but now I purchase them in a two-pack and pay roughly $1.50 per pack. What a steal!

Did you ever have kids write all over your walls with crayons? Did you ever spill something on your kitchen or bathroom counter that did not get wiped off before you could get back to it? How about ink pens that slipped off the paper and wrote on the table or counter? Soap scum, grease and grime in sinks, plastic waste baskets, fingerprints on door frames, scuff marks on the kitchen floor...You name it, this little eraser will probably do the trick. It really does seem "magic"!

My oldest son, when he was about three, decided to jump up and down on his bed with four different colored crayons in his hands. Well, it wouldn't have done any harm if he wasn't putting the crayons on the wall! He was so proud of his masterpiece that I could hardly get mad at him. But this was the first overwhelming cleaning project that prompted me to go in search of something to clean it. Having young children in the house, I was conscious of the harm chemicals can do. I wanted something to do the job right and to keep my family safe. ENTER: Mr Clean Magic Eraser!

These erasers measure approximately 6" x 4" and are about half an inch thick. They are soft to the touch and have a firm sponge feeling; less porous than a regular sponge. They are white in color. I believe you can purchase them in single packages for about one dollar.

My experience with this first use was to apply gentle pressure and to wipe in a circular motion over the crayon. I dampened the eraser first and squeezed out any excess water. This is how I use these Magic Erasers all the time. Light moisture, light pressure and circular motions. Needless to say, the work of art was painlessly removed and I was completely sold on this magical product. Without going into detail, my son never colored on the walls again.

Well, since the Mr Clean Magic Eraser did such a wonderful job on the crayon, I began looking for other jobs to do. Soap scum is always a pain in my side. It seems no matter what I do to prevent it, it always comes back. I used to use very strong chemical cleansers on it but only until I discovered this magic eraser. All I do is moisten the eraser, lightly scrub the soap scum off, rinse with plain water and wipe dry. Sparkling clean! No residue, no chemicals, no work. I also use the magic eraser to clean the tile and grout in the bathroom. It works great on the chrome fixtures, the porcelain sink, the toilet tank and bowl, the light switch plate and the door frame. I have eliminated every chemical I have used in the bathroom except for the bleach I use for inside the toilet bowl. It even works great on windows and glass!

Now the kitchen is another favorite place for me to use the Mr Clean Magic Eraser. It works GREAT on the counters and stainless steel sink. I use it to polish my appliances and the glass on the microwave oven. It removes the grime and grease that leaks down into the stove pans. Actually it makes my stove shine! It works well on the floor to get scuff marks up. I use it to clean the light fixtures in the kitchen which can become grimy with cooking grease and steam. This eraser removes all splashes, drips, spots and grime off the refrigerator door. It does an excellent job in side the refrigerator as well and works great on the plastic bins and inside walls. Like I said, the uses are endless. I keep at least two erasers in the kitchen and two in the bathroom.

I also use these erasers to clean out the plastic waste baskets throughout the house. This can be a dirty job and one that nobody likes to do. But I don't mind now. I simply dampen the eraser, lightly scrub throughout the waste basket, rinse with water and wipe dry. Clean, Clean, Clean!!!

I work with infants in my job. Not only do I have to be conscious of keeping the room spotless, I also have to use as few chemicals as I can when cleaning. The Mr Clean Magic Eraser works well in cleaning all the surfaces at work. Counter tops, cabinet doors, large activity centers, toys. I also use one to remove the residue left on my dry-erase boards. I can confidently clean my classroom knowing I have used little or no chemicals and the results are amazing. I honestly cannot say enough about these Mr Clean Magic Erasers.

I also keep one or two in my laundry room. They work well to clean out the washing machine, especially where soap, fabric softener and fibers collect at the top of the inside drum. I surface clean both the washer and dryer with these erasers. They work great on just about any surface I can think of. My son uses them to clean the tires and rims he has on his truck. In fact, we all use them when washing our cars. They can even be used on those hard to clean bar-b-que grills. The only problem here is that the eraser will have to be replaced after this job. They clean the yucky grime that coffee leaves inside the pot. I use them to clean the algae when I clean my aquariums at home. Finger prints on doors and walls. Porcelain, plastic, stainless steel, glass, crystal, chrome, linoleum, Plexiglas. The possibilities are endless!

I will say here, that once the erasers start wearing out, they become flat and break apart. My experience with them is that you can even use the broken parts, especially for smaller jobs. They are cheap to replace so once you decide you do not want to use one anymore, all you have to do is replace it.

I can only tell you my own experience with the Mr Clean Magic Eraser Cleaning Pads. You will just have to try them for yourself to know how "magic" they really are. I know that Mr Clean offers other Magic Erasers with extra cleaning power as well as a scented version. I have not used those ones yet but not sure I ever will because I am completely satisfied with the basic one. They are affordable, efficient and best of all, chemical - free!
