Like every Windows computer user I was stuck with the horrific browser that microsoft gave us. I liked being able to click on a tab to change windows, rather than go to the tool bar and change widows entirely.

What it is

Firefox is a free browser that utilizes tabbed windows, which means you only open one window with many tabs to flip back and forth through. I tried netscape but the updates for netscape came only when they rewrote the entire program. It was not updated enough to keep up on the daily changes occurring in cyberspace.

My firefox is probably upgraded about 2 times a month in order to keep up with the changing environment of cyberspace. With its customizable format I can make it look just like the normal Windows browser from microsoft, but without the problems. Firefox has many add-ons you can install too customize it for any need. You can specify the language it uses, have weather delivered right to your browser, even get a stock ticker for your browser.

If you forgot to install any add-ons when you got it, no problem it gives you the opportunity to do so when it updates itself. In the middle of doing something when it auto-updates, no problem you can tell it to wait till the next time you open the browser.

Bottom Line

Firefox is a free download from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ and will make your browsing more enjoyable and trouble free. I have been using it for about a year now and have no regrets or withdrawal symptoms from microsoft. If you would rather have tabs and one window open instead of multiple windows then you should give Firefox a try. What do you have to lose? It won't cost you a penny and may just make your life a little easier!

Safari is a mac only browser. You never tried it because you are a pc user.

Glad to see I am not the only tab monger out there....lol ;-o I have maybe 2 sites that don't like it and both are my banking sites so no problem there. Thanks for reading Ron

I use it as a supplement to Safari. It's a great browser and having them both can be really convenient.

I've been using Firefox for a couple of years and it's miles ahead of MS or Netscape. Good call, Ron! :>

I use Firefox 99.99% of the time. One site I go to doesn't like it and sometimes Tripod where I have webpages doesn't like it but I've had no trouble with the program itself. nice job. Jo who has about 20 tabs!
