I hope no one started this thread already! I looked for it and didn't see anything. :)

I'm ashamed to admit I haven't seen some of the classic holiday movies, like Miracle on 34th St. or It's A Wonderful Life. I have a feeling that I'd love them though. Old movies are the best.

I'd have to say my favorite holiday movie is A Charlie Brown Christmas or Mickey's Christmas Carol. I also love the Santa Bear movies, and classics like Rudolph and Frosty.

What are your favorite holiday movies?

I don't think anyone has started this so now we can :)

My favorite holiday movie now-a-days is Elf.  I just think it's soooo funny and never get tired of watching it!  Although I like the classics too, those are more just things to have on while I'm playing on the computer, whereas Elf I'll actually sit down and watch a few times each christmas :)

Some of my favorite Holiday movies are It's a Wonderful Life, The Christmas Story, Timepiece, and The Christmas Box.

I just watched Elf this past weekend. I could watch that movie all the time. It is so funny. =)

I realize that this doesn't make me stand out from the crowd but I'm a sucker for "A Christmas Story" about the little boy named Ralphie back in the 40's.  I've seen (and loved) "It's a Wonderful Life" many times but I always make sure to be there in front of my set for the big Charleston contest.  And I still get a chill when Jimmy Stewart runs his car into the old man's tree and things begin to get wierd.  Truly, it's a wonderful movie!  Another favorite is "A Christmas Carol", the version made back in 1950.  Thanks, Katie, for starting such a nice thread.  I must admit that with all the relentless wrapping, mailing and what not, my Christmas spirit was beginning to take a shellacking but HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!

My favorites are A Christmas Story and Scrooged!! I always end up watching that 24 hour marathon of A Christmas Story! Last year my wife couldn't take it after the first 5 times.

My favorites are National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, The Christmas Toy, and Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.

I just can't get into Elf or A Christmas Story.  I've tried but they do nothing for me.

My favs are Scrooged, The Grinch, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (of course), A Christmas Story, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Garfield Christmas (How come they don't show the Garfield holiday cartoons anymore?) Mickey's Christmas Carol, A Muppet's Christmas Carol, While You Were Sleeping, (a guilty pleasure is . . .) Bab Santa (but a good laugh), Last Holiday, The Holiday, Love Actually (my fav romantic comedy of all time), Elf, most Hallmark Christma movies, all Santa Clause movies, a new favorite is Four Christmases (see my review on it and if you need a good laugh at Christmas time, this one is for you!) . . . more will come as I'm reminded of them. . .

White Christmas and Charlie Brown cartoons. I would love to see the Christmas movie (all of them actually) of Pippi Longstocking. Darn tape had to be damaged when I wanted to see it. :(

Read my review for my top ten! :-) Decided if I was going to write that much it may as well count as a review too. I am a lover of The Christmas Carol -with Patrick Stewart. The girls are stuck on Barbie Christmas Carol which was actually quite nice too. Honorable Mention to Christmas Story but not Elf. Just can't get into it. Like Santa Clause 2, and National Lampoons. Miracle on 34th and It's a wonderful life. . .

My kindered spirit "sister."  They have a Pippi Longstocking Christmas?  I need to see if they have it on Amazon.

Okay, my list:

  • National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
  • The Christmas Shoes, The Christmas Blessing, Christmas Child
  • Polar Express and the Grinch (orig. cartoon and Jim Carey version)
  • Elf and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (with Dylan & Cole Sprouse)
  • the classic Christmas cartoons (Frosty, Rudolph, etc.) and Charlie Brown movies
  • I love The Year Without a Santa Claus and Nestor, the Long-Eared Donkey and Jack Frost, and Magic Gift of the Snowman
  • The Night They Saved Christmas (with Jaclyn Smith)
  • One Mom For Christmas (with Olivia Newton-John)
  • Smokey Mtn. Christmas and Unlikely Angel (with Dolly Parton)
  • Samantha: An American Girl's Christmas, Beyond Christmas
  • the orig. Miracle on 34th St. (with Natalie Wood) and the orig. Little Women (with Elizabeth Taylor)
  • Silver Bells, Miracle of the Bells, and I'll Be Home for Christmas (both versions; one with Jessica Biel and Jonathan Taylor Thomas and the other with Ann Gillian)
  • Undercover Christmas, Surviving Christmas, The Christmas List, A Boyfriend for Christmas, and Christmas With the Kranks
  • A Holiday to Remember (with Naomi Judd) and If You Believe (with Hayden Panatierre), Angel in the Family, the Christmas Stranger, White Christmas and the Touched By An Angel Christmas movie with Randy Travis
  • Finally, most of the movies being aired on Hallmark, Lifetime and Family Channel.  New ones in the recent years: A Grandpa For Christmas, Together Again for the First Time, Moonlight & Mistletoe, Secret Santa, The Note....
  • Four Christmases was really funny but has a little too much language for a family movie (I reviewed it too)

I think I may have just given you a list of all the Christmas movies I own or that I have recently watched ;+)

We always watch National Lampoon Christmas Vacation on Christmas Eve. The boys like the humor, and we all get a good laugh (or lots of them) year after year.

Mine is definitely A Christmas Story!!  I love Ralphie's expressions and imagination.  The movie makes me wish things were simple and innocent, like they are in the era in the movie.  Everything's just so fast paced now a days.

You right, Jonathan, that's a great movie!

"White Christmas" is the perfect flick to have running when you're wrapping Christmas gifts or trimming the tree!

Well the best holiday movie I love to watch is A Christmas Story cause Im a Indiana boy and that movie touches home right here in Indiana it always plays about million times on TV from Thanks Giving to Christmas ..LOL I just love that film and its one the few comedy movies without curse words. So its family friendly film and well I got the DVD when it came out. It shows a loving side of Indiana right around the holidays times.

The Christmas Shoes will always hold a special place in my heart since the events of last week.  We were watching the movie and I sensed that my Brannigan was dying.  When Anna Leigh (coupleoncloud9) arrived at my house I asked her if she came to tell me Brannigan passed away and she said yes.  Each time I watch this movie I will think of that terrible day but as in the movie I will have peace in knowing that Brannigan is now with the Lord.

We watche it over and over on Christmas Day.  I have fond memories of watching it a million times with my Dad when I was younger.

My family also likes National Lampoons Vacation.

My favorite holiday movie is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Since it came out in the early 1990s, my family and I have watched it every Christmas eve. Obviously, not the best "family movie" but it's hard not to love Cousin Eddie and the squirrel :)

How did I miss this thread?  I assume you are talking about Christmas Movies, so that leaves out "Groundhog Day"..:)

My favorites are The Polar Express,  A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart as well as the one with George C. Scott,  Scrooged, Bad Santa (Yeah, I know I'm wrong, but whattaygonnado?), to name a few....
