Top 7 Las Vegas-Themed Movies

Top 7 Las Vegas-Themed Movies
Movie Reviewer, A Big Giant Sap, a storyteller

Sitting in a theater this week watching What Happens In Vegas, as I watched the scenes filmed in Las Vegas, Nevada, I started running through my head the numerous other films that have either been based in Las Vegas or had a key scene filmed there. — — What Happens In Vegas is kind of in the middle of those two categories. The film has more than a few scenes, but not the whole film. Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher star as two people that go to Las Vegas to forget their sorrows, and end up married after a drunken evening together. As he wins big at the slots the next morning, she… read full review »

The most phenomanol Pirate movie I have ever seen! — — The quick wittyness of the play writing, the makeup, the set, the actors--just marvelous! — The movie has enough story-line to keep you involved, but not enough to keep you intrigued with the next one!  Cannot wait until next one comes out! — — Plus--who can resist Johnny Depp? —… read full review »

I watched this movie a while back, it wasn't that great. It was too slow and not what I expected. All the funniest parts were ofcourse in the previews then their was nothing left. It just wasn't that funny and the plot wasn't that original. It was like a remade… read full review »

Well as a young mother I havent bought it yet because my son isnt old enough yet, but I know that I will be getting it. I do think that LeapFrog is a good company for parents to get their child to learn. I had bought them in the past for my niece and she loved it. The toys are education and they arent that expensive. I think that others should try… read full review »

I can say very few good things about this movie.   The storyline was bad.  The actors and actresses did a bad job.  It made me a little sick with the child molesters and killers.  Ed Harris and Morgan Freeman do a pretty good job as detectives in this horrific tale about this little girl who was kidnapped because her mother is a  crackhead.  This child's mother spends all day abusing drugs while toting along her small daughter.  The girl gets taken due to some money stolen from a small time drug dealer.  She is missing for days upon weeks. … read full review »

Baby Bumblebee's Be Smart Baby Vocabulary Builder DVDs are a great way to teach your children new words and develop their language skills. Designed for children three and under, this series has been a big hit with my kids, and with my wife and I, as it beats the heck out of watching yet another Wiggles video or God forbid, the Teletubbies. — — The videos are very straightforward, following the same formula in each volume in the series: while soothing classical music plays in the background, images of a certain thing (a train, for instance) are shown with the word superimposed on… read full review »

I like Will Smith, I like a lot of the movies / shows he has been in, I beleive he is a good actor with exceptional acting abilities... Someone did not do Mr. Smith nor his co-actors justice when they released this movie (especially since it wasn't in theaters very long before hitting rental shelves). — I beleive there is a good story to be told in this movie, but someone either released an unfinished piece of work, or they edited out way to much and kept too many slow pieces of useless information, and the ending wasn't all that great either.  At least it had a lot of moving… read full review »

Once you get past "knowing" whose voice belongs to which bee, and some of the funnier portions of the movie, you are inundated with what can really go wrong in a Bee's life.  AND since there is a Bee issue in the news recently, this movie is really geared to the adults making an enviromental change, while trying to educate children on why life as they know it has a set of "checks and balances" that can be easily imbalanced by not having all the information/players in their places. —… read full review »

I suggest watching the "extra's" after watching the movie... and for those of you who know the true/real history behind Alvin, Simon, and Theadore's creator...you will enjoy the little extra's incorporated into the movie. This is another semi-educational movie for children (limits, beleiving in self and others, listening to adults / friends, etc) and adults alike. There is a lot of humor on all levels for every development stage in the family. The commercials and trailers have not done this movie justice... Watch with an open mind, and try not think of the cartoon / animated drawn versions… read full review »

Brings a new perspective with some historical information as to what and why the Loch ness monster has been so hard to capture on "real" filmography. It has a good plot, and good acting. Plus the scenery is gorgous for the era it is suppose to be filmed in. — My only suggestion is that young children understand that there "is" some loud noises assocciated with this film that could hurt their hearing / freighten them a little (depending on each child's sensitivity level). —… read full review »

As an adult it had some slow and boring parts in it. The Penquins are animated better then real penquins even though some were drawn similar to "real" penquins as possible (I would love to see a "real" HI surfing penquin with another species of penquins - NOT in a Zoo though).  I believe everyone who watches this will come out with some educational value… read full review »

1997's Bongwater, directed by Richard Sears, is an adaptation of an excellent novel by Michael Hornburg (Downer's Grove) starring Luke Wilson as unlucky pot dealer named Dave. When his flaky girlfriend (Alicia Witt) leaves him, she also manages to accidentally set fire to his house. Thus begins a series of amiable misadventures set in and around the stoner culture of Portland, Oregon. There is, however, a scene with Witt's character set in NYC that is anything but amiable, and the sudden change in tone is especially jolting. — — Wilson is immensely likeable in the role, and is… read full review »

I like Patrick Dempsey enough to rent this movie when it came out, and the lead actress is very good too! I was disappointed though with the "hype" of it being one of the best. Growing up on Disney, and being able to pinpoint which Disney "classics" were woven into this one was about the only highlight of the whole movie (besides P.D.). For those of you who didn't grow-up with Disney (classic, Snow White, Cinderella, Bambi, etc) you wont notice the difference (IMHOO) as not being one of the better Disney movies possible. Enchanted's crew should have kept it either animated or "real" film, and… read full review »
