Mountain Dew - Supernova Review

In summer of 2003, I got addicted to Mountain Dew LiveWire, an orange flavored version of Mountain Dew that had a little extra kick.  That was a special release though, and after the summer of 2003, it was not available anywhere.  They have since (finally) worked it into production but you can't find it all the time.

Now this summer Mountain Dew is testing 3 new flavors.  One of them is the Supernova flavor.  My husband brought me home one of these today because he knows I love Mountain Dew and I love Strawberry flavor.  So of course, I LOVED Mountain Dew Supernova!  Now I'm just worried the flavor won't get enough votes and will be taken away.  Although they usually bring back the flavors eventually, I miss them during the time they are gone.

Mountain Dew Supernova starts like regular Mountain Dew, but then has a "blast of Strawberry Melon Flavor and Ginseng".  This flavor tastes great!  It basically taste like when I mix Mountain Dew slurpee with a Strawberry slurpee and I love it.  Unlike regular Mountain Dew, Supernova does give me more of a fizz feeling on my tongue - if that makes any sense to you!

Supernova has the same amount of caffeine, calories and carbs as regular Mountain Dew.  The difference comes in with the Ginseng Root Extract. This herb is said to increase stamina and/or boost the immune system.  Does it work?  Who knows, but it can't hurt to try!  After drinking this I feel energized, but the same can be said about any version of Mountain Dew.  Reading about the "healing" effects of Ginseng does make me more excited to drink Mountain Dew Supernova over regular Mountain Dew just because it sounds healthier!

Please go out and try this - then vote! We need this version to stay on the shelves!  I am already addicted after just 1 bottle so I don't know what I'll do if Supernova loses.  If you like Mountain Dew, then go try Supernova this summer and show your support to the cause!  Enjoy!!
