Wow. Where do I begin!? I have loved this school since before I've even stepped on campus. Mount Mary College is a four year accreddited woman's college. Yes, a WOMAN'S college! (Sorry boys!) To begin, yes this is a private catholic school. This school is pricey compared to public schools ranging at about 20,000 tuition per year. The national average for private universities is around 30,000. So in perspective they are a cheaper option when it comes to private education. Mount Mary is located in Milwaukee, WI which is a very hip and urban city. The campus itself lies further off the hectic downtown area in wauwautosa county. Even though it is far from city action it is only 10-20 minutes away from downtown. Being far from the action can be a real plus. It is in a very calm environment which is great for serious students.
The campus is very beautiful with over 80 acres of land so there are great views from every window. Having said that, the professors and classes are absolutely wonderful. The average class is around 20 students so you get interact with your proffessor on a personal level. Also, you will always be taught by your professor and not a teaching assistant or some other stand in so you can always be confident that the information you are reciving is genuine. Throughout the years here I haven't encountered one single proffesor who wasn't willing to go out of their way to help a student. This college is a very close-knit community for everyone on campus. Even though men are not allowed to graduate from Mount Mary they are still invited to take some classes so there is a chance you might actually have a male in your class. Men are also allowed into your dorm rooms up until around 1:00am. I hope that the fact that Mount Mary is a private woman's college will not discourage anyone from checking it out and learning about this school. I wouldn't trade the education I gained at this school for ANYTHING. That is how much I value this college. I could go on and on about how wonderful this college is but, as I have said in the past, it is best to look at things on your own and form your own opinion.
