Motorola - W490 Cell Phone Reviews

I've had the Motorola W490 for just under a year now and have had problems with it twice. I purchased it in Oct 2007. In June 2008 the screen started going. it would be either all white or all black on the internal screen, then after day or so, the external screen starting doing the same thing. the only way I could get it to work was to take the battery out for a couple minutes, then put it back in and turn it on and leave it flipped open. if I closed the flip, the screen wouldn't work the next time I opened it.

after a couple more days the ringtones weren't working properly, the text messages...

The Motorola w490 is overall a pretty good phone for the price if you are looking for a basic phone with basic features. The camera takes pretty good pictures but it does not have a flash so the quality diminishes in low light settings. The texting feature is very user friendly. I like that it comes in purple color. One thing I dont like is that if you have too many text messages in the inbox (over 300) it wont let you delete all at once. When you try to do it it will say deleting, please wait, and then it just freezes up and even pushing any of the buttons wont unfreeze it-you cant even turn it...

The W490 is a great phone considering how closely it resembles the Moto Razor. It's heavy duty and feels like it has some weight compaired to the Razor. While I haven't tried the music player yet due to the needed additional memory that is sold seperately, the ring tones sound crisp and clear. Decent camera capibilities except that there is no flash, so taking pictures in low light doens't turn out. Clear phone quality and works great using the blue tooth capibilities. Over all a great phone for the price.

The only down sides are that the back light only stays lit for 20 seconds. There's no way...

I upgraded to the Motorola - W490 cell phone this summer and have been pleased with its performance in the following months. Even with a 1.3 megapixel camera, the pictures can only be viewed on the phone. The screen size is adequate for viewing messages, taking pictures, which is mainly what i use it for. I have experienced long battery life, even with moderate to high amounts of texting and camera use. Only recently have I experienced trouble with the entire screen changing to white and not being able to access any features. In this case, turning off the phone and turning it back on seems to help....

It's a great phone, the Motorola W490, without being too complicated.  It has all the features you need, including games.  The camera takes clear pictures.  Just aim and shoot.  It is bluetooth compatible, and the sound is loud and clear.  This is about my sixth cell phone, and so far, it is about the best.  It is user friendly and fits nicely in the hand.  It also has instant messaging and mobile e-mail to 12 different providers.  One of the features I really like is the web access and the games.  All in all, it is a great little phone for those who aren't very techy.

      My best friend just gave me this phone as a Christmas present.  It was love at first sight. This phone is so easy to use and it has some really great features.  The texting is simple.  It takes great pictures and the ringtones it comes with are above average.  to top it all off it is also a music player.  what more can a girl ask for?  I love my phone and I really love my best friend for giving me such a great gift.

This is an awesome phone for Motorola lovers!  I know that there are some that don't believe in Motorola products but if you do, then this is the phone for you.  It comes in 3 colors choices (black, lime green, purple).  The colors are amazingly beautiful.  You can check email, instant messenger, it has web features and all sorts of downloadable ringtones, wallpapers and games.......

I highly recommend this phone :o)
