Motorola - Razr V3 Cell Phone Review

I'm going to start this review by stating something shocking: I mostly use my cell phone to call people.  I know, I know, it sounds crazy, but try it sometime people,  you'll be shocked at how well that works.

I'm not an advanced cell phone user.  I don't need web access or Verizon's VCAST service, I don't need to send pix messages (honestly, who wants pictures taken with a cell phone camera anyways?), I rarely use it for texting, and I don't play games.  So how did I end up with a RAZR V3m?  Simple, it was free.  I get a free new phone every two years through Verizon, and this is what I ended up with last summer.

The phone has plenty of features, and can do pretty much anything you would want it to.  I know when it first came out it was exclusive to Verizon, but I'm unsure if that's still the case.  The display screen is nice and bright, although it does get easily obfuscated by fingerprints or dust.  It's not as if you can't see anything, but there is a tendency for it to become not nearly as clear or bright.  The menus are clear and concise.  You should be able to find where you need to go with little or no trouble at all.

The phone's sound is crisp and clear.  Between that and the strength of Verizon's network where I am, I've never had a problem with this phone in terms of hearing people.  At times the sound is too crisp and too clear, especially for notifications of new messages or missed calls.

Since it's a RAZR, it's very slim and fits nicely into just about any pocket.  True, it may not be as small as some people would hope for, but I don't think it's overly big either. 

For those looking for a cell phone for it's most basic purpose, the RAZR really serves no purpose outside of it being something of a status symbol these days.  It's slim frame and small design are appealing for obvious reasons.  I've had no problems with it in close to a year of use, and have no intention of getting rid of it anytime soon.  It's probably too much phone for what I use it for, but free is free, and I was going to take advantage of it.
