About the phone, as a phone

If a phone could be a cliche, this one would be it; everybody has it!  The RAZR V3 is my first real "grown up" phone, and I must admit, it took me a little while to figure out all of the features (there are a lot!) and the whole logic of the thing, but after about a week of off-and-on playing and exploring, I mastered the RAZR and since then have had nothing but love of this great phone!

It's sleek, attractive design, color screen, and ease of use make it a perfect cellphoneRingtones/music tones play remarkably well on it (for a cellphone), I've downloaded about 6 games without any negative effect to my phone, it has voice recognition (which works about as good as any voice recognition:

Me: "Home"

Phone: Calling "Jonathan"

Me: No, "Home"!!  "Hooommme!!").

The text messaging is easy and quick for anyone with limber thumbs.

Many others have commented that the battery runs out to quickly.  I, personally, have not had this problem, and sometimes go 3 or 4 days before I finally remember to plug it in and charge it.  But this may be because I don't talk on the phone a lot...

The RAZR V3 I have is a matte black, which can get scratched pretty easily, but I have been able to remove all scratches with a little bit of water and it remains as attractive as the day I bought it (for a lot of money ;-) ).

About the phone, as a camera

The whole idea of a camera on a cellphone to me is for convenience, not for picture quality.  I use the camera minimally, and only when I want to take a shot but don't have my actual camera with me.  This feature is a nice bonus, but not particularly important to me.  It works well enough and you can send the pics as a text message to someone else (or to an email address), and there is also a video option, but I certainly don't recommend buying a camera-phone to use as your main camera.  Digital cameras can be cheap enough these days.

About the phone, as internet access

The one downfall of the RAZR V3, in my opinion, is that it doesn't compete as a source of internet access.  The access is slow and you can only move within certain pre-set websites (yahoo! email, for example, or on my phone since I have AT&T, the AT&T web mall).  I have enjoyed this feature and have used it to download several games in moments of extreme boredom, and so I am glad it has this feature, but wish that the internet moved faster.  But then, this is why I need to buy a blackberry ;-)  Or an iPhone.

Final recommendation

For anyone who wants a cell phone with some nice extra features (camera, internet, etc.), but who mainly want a cellphone for use as a phone, I think that there is no option better than the RAZR phones!

I am considering a new phone, and the RAZR was one of the potential candidates. I love your voice recognition reenactment! I think everyone has had the miscall episode. LOL Great review! :)

Haha! Yeah, I had one of those...It was a "trac phone" actually, one of those pre-paid things that I always forgot to reload with minutes. It was more expensive per minute than pretty much any calling plans, but since I hardly ever used/reloaded it..... anyway, I was very against cellphones in general for a while. Now I think they're pretty cool, and it's only some cellphone users that I am against ;-)

Well, almost everyone. I still make do with a Nokia that takes and makes calls and probably can do the text stuff.
