When Boca discontinued my favorite sausage links, I had to find a substitute I could live with. MorningStar Farms Veggie Sausage Patties was the clear winner!
A standard box holds 6 patties and I'm able to pick them up on a good sale for about $3 a box. If you don't catch them on sale, they can be a bit pricey for the average consumer. Other than that, there are truly no cons to these mock meat patties.
For one thing, they're incredibly convenient. I like eating two patties with a breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast. I've also crumbled them up and put them in breakfast burritos - YUM! My friends and family couldn't even tell they weren't eating real sausage - considering they are all die hard carnivores, that has to count for something.
They take only minutes to prepare, and you can microwave them or pop them in the oven. They don't taste too bad microwaved, but I prefer the oven because the texture is almost identical to real sausage patties. However, I don't buy them because I want them to taste like meat - it's just a perk that I can serve these yummy patties to my friends and they'll actually eat them!
If you're looking for a healthier, protein-packed option for breakfast, pick up a box of MorningStar Farms Veggie Sausage Patties. They are the perfect accompaniment to eggs and toast and work great in veggie breakfast burritos or breakfast casseroles!
