More Review

As a professional women over 40, I was tired reading magazines that were geared towards the twenty-somethings.  A friend shared a copy of More Magazine and I was instantly hooked!

To begin with the women on the cover are either my age or at least in the vicinity and some even have wrinkles!!  The articles address health and beauty issues for the over 40 crowd with unbiased reports of what works and what doesn't work.  Surprisingly, many of the products don't cost a week's worth of salary. Then, there are articles of a more serious nature and often issues women should be aware of and not ignore.  For instance, feeling fatigue, flu-like symptoms, chills and sweating may be the Flu- but it may also be a heart attack.  Of course the article goes into more details but I never really focused on the fact that I could have a heart attack and I should know what the symptoms are so I can act fast.

Then there are the stories about women amazing women who reinvent themselves after parenting and the children leave the nest. It is inspiring that something that is a passion can turn into one's life work.  What's needed?  Motivation and the willingness to take a risk for something you feel passionate about.

Lastly, there are the recipes.  I love to cook, but don't necessarily have the time.  The recipes are delicious and doable.  Now, if I didn't have the dishes to clean!
