Moorpark College School of Nursing - California  —

I highly recommend Moorpark College School of Nursing. The instructors are experienced in thier field and some of them currently work in nursing as well as teach. It's definately a challenging field of study and they expect alot of you,  as they should. Nobody wants a nurse who took wasn't taught well. This school has a very high pass rate of the NCLEX and is accredited. They also try to be very understanding of unexpected life experiences and go out of their way help the students do well. I now  work in a world renowned pediatric facility in the neonatal intensive care unit and sometimes the cardiothoracic intensive care unit. I'm also on the heart-lung bypass team. I help care for some of the sickest children in the country and work with some well known physicians. None of this would have been possible without the solid teachings of a great nursing school and its instructors.

Sounds like it was written by one the instructers there. Considering all the grammatical errors, I'd say they dummed it down a little too much. BTW - Moorpark's Nursing program strongly discriminates on the basis of color, creed, heavy accent, and age. If you're not young and white or very, very sub-servient, or if for whatever reason they just don't like your personality - they will find a way to eliminate you. Unfortunately, the longer the instructor has been on staff, the more prevalent this abuse of power. I saw nine people eliminated in my time there, they were bright, mostly all "A" students, well liked by patients, as well as by the staff at hospitals they trained in clinical rotation. They were also enthusiastic and grateful for this opportunity, and because of that they were well liked by their fellow students. However, for reasons mentioned above, they weren't "acceptable" to the faculty at Moorparks R.N. Program. All cratively dismissed, but for reasons none could see, especially those students themselves. Of course none of us dared to stand up for these students lest our heads end up on the chopping block as well. What a shame, lost opportunities, lost skilled nurses when the need is so great, all because those in a position of power, abused that power, just because they could. Setting aside personal differences would have been, and is, the professional thing to do.

I am planning to go back to Nursing School this Fall in NJ. I completed all the prerequisites and got through to last semester at Gloucester County College Nursing School affiliated with Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. I was then told I had Avascular Necrosis in both femoral heads of the hips. Had to have both hips replaced(NO FUN)...so I am healed and plan to go back!!! Wish me luck..Thank you for your review.
