OK. I was waiting to see a flop. Another out-of-this-world drama opposite Ghost Whisperer? Moonlight, a story of Vampires living amongst us mortals, was a surprising experience. They put together an Aussie, Londoner and a Canadian with a few USA types thrown in, PLUS a fantastic writing team and set developers, and the mix is marvelous.
I got hooked because of the writing. It is very good. This could be an absolutely awful show with pretty people, but the actors/characters really seem to like each other, the story line is fantastically displayed and the actors know how to act. I have noted a couple of rough spots, but if I just wait it out, everything smooths out nicely, and I'm satisfied at the end of the episode.
How else can I recommend it other than letting you know that my husband, Mr. "I hate everything on television and don't understand why anyone would watch that d--- thing!", has actually sat with me through 5 entire episodes (impressive for him - he didn't get up once!) and is looking forward to the new episodes which will hopefully appear late spring. There were only 12 episodes shot before the writer's strike, so it's a wait-and-see game. I hope this one doesn't go the way of my favorite, Queen of Swords, and get lost because of time slot, writer's strike and cost of production.
