The room, although facing the massive construction next door, gives a view to the North of the Strip which is great. The rooms are clean and decent. Pertaining to whether I'd recommend this property to a friend - it would not be at this time with the current construction next to the Monte Carlo. Reason: we rented a car and wanted to self park - but found out their self parking lots are full. We were somewhat surprised that a worthy hotel with so many guests rooms were out of parking for their own hotel guests!! The other solution, as we were toldm was to go to the next parking garage in the next casino or have valet parking. The other thing that bothered us was - when it was time to return our car, the rental car company has a few lots allocated to them in the self parking but they were all taken up. So we ended up having to drive around a couple of times and even having my spouse go in to check with their rental car personnel on staff as to what to do. The person insisted there was a lot for our rental car when evidently there was not. It was rather unpleasant having to run in and out of the hotel two, three times to prove that all the said rental car spots were already taken. Perhaps when the construction is finished, there will be more parking for the hotel clients, or another suggestion is to have hotel guests given some sort of priorty, instead of having them figure out where else they can park their cars.Recreational Attactions: Short Walk, The MGM and Excalibur and New York, New York hotels are just short minutes walk to - and you can take the light rail to Luxor, for example, which is convenient. Also across the street - there's plenty of places for shopping - notably if you are into icon stuff - M&M and Coke memorabilia...
