This was my first trip to Vegas and I had high expectations. The Monte Carlo was easy to find, but it became apparent that they really wanted you to use valet parking because the parking garage was 2 blocks away. But they had a walkway that connected the hotel, so at least we didn't have to cart our luggage on the street, because it was around 10 PM and I didn't want to have to worry about that. The check-in was very easy, and it took only a few minutes even though it was late. I have to say the room was nice, but compared to other hotels that have microwaves and fridges in them, I would have liked that. But for the price, it was a nice room. The bed was nice and it had a nice view of the New York, New York. Everything was great, except we went down to the cafe to have a late dinner after we walked around. We stood in line for about 5 minutes while 5 different servers and 2 host persons walked past the line. No one acknowledged us or even said it would be a few minutes. It was like we were invisible. Finally, someone that obviously was a manager came over and sat us. A busser came by to take our drink order, but he couldn't understand when my boyfriend asked him what drinks were on tap. We just ordered drinks and then about 2 minutes later our server came over. We re-iterated our drink order to her and then ordered our meal. I ordered a fruit plate and he ordered a cold sandwich. This was the last time we saw our server. She completely disappeared and never brought our drinks. Yes, I understand it was late, but this is a casino that caters to 24 hour service. We sat there for about 5-8 minutes and waited and got nothing. No drinks, or food. Finally we got up and left, again with no acknowledgement. We went to the food court and had to order McDonalds...we paid $3.00 for the fruit plate that had about 8 slices of apples in it. It was supposed to have grapes but at this point we were so tired and upset that we just didn't argue. The next morning we went to the buffet for breakfast, and again the cashier was slow to seat us. In fact, I don't think any host/hostess greated us anywhere while we were there. We got our food and ordered coffee. We had to remind the server/busser several times while we were there that we would like coffee and the final time we asked for a refill, we ended up leaving without getting it because he never came back. It's a shame, because the hotel itself was nice and we would have returned, but the service we received will most likely make us not return. There's too many choices for us to go back to a hotel where people were outright rude to us.

Recreational Attactions: Short Walk, Lots of attractions.....New York New York hotel is right next door and the roller coaster there is fun. There is also Treasure Island and other casino within walking distance, not to mention shopping!
