I've been a fan of Monster Energy Drinks for quite some time, but the regular version is LOADED with calories and sugar. I switched to Monster Lo-Carb in the hopes that I could still enjoy the great taste without the added calories.
Thankfully, I can!
The taste is still very similar to the full-carb Monster, with only a slight difference in the aftertaste. Honestly, it's not a big enough difference to me that it affects my overall enjoyment of the product. In my opinion, the two taste very similar, but I'm eliminating a bunch of excess calories and sugar by drinking the lower-carb version.
Although I know that energy drinks are probably not the healthiest thing for you, I limit myself to a can per week. I figure I should be able to indulge now and then, and if I'm drinking a low-cal beverage then that's even better!
As far as how much energy I derive from Monster Lo-Carb, I can't say it lasts all day. I do feel slightly more upbeat with one of these in my system, and I can typically stay awake and concentrate for a few hours longer than if I didn't have one. The crash kills me though and I am left feeling more exhausted than I did before the caffeine hit my system!
Overall, I'm definitely happy with Monster Lo-Carb Energy Drink and will always reach for one of these when I am in the mood for a refreshing beverage or a jolt of energy.
