First of all, this review is not meant to reflect on the series or even part 1 of this season finale. These are only my frustrated anguished thoughts about this episode of the usually excellent Monk.

Part 1 left with Monk getting shot by the Capt near the water. Part 2 opens with Monk thanking the Capt for helping fake his death. I am glad (though unsuprised) that he was wearing a bulletproof vest, but wouldn't the vest interfere with swimming? Especially since he can't swim?
