Moen Vitalize Brushed Nickel Rainshower Showerhead —

I trust my plumber, so I left the selections for the fixtures up to him. He hooked me up with Moen brand bathroom fixtures including the Moen Vitalize Brushed Nickel Rainforest Showerhead.

I like brushed nickel on bathroom fixtures, because they do not show water spots as bad as other types of metal. While Moen makes a lot of different metals, the Vitalize comes only in brushed nickel at this time. That's probably because it's new to the line. But, the company makes a variety of the rainforest shower nozzles with other metal options.

This model has a lifetime warranty on the finish, and it looks like brand new especially when I clean it. It doesn't even show the hard water deposits which are awful here. I wash it off often to make sure it does not get the build up, and it cleans up really easily.

The size of the Moen Vitalize is larger than any shower head I've had before. I've moved a lot, so I've had many types including the snazzy one with all kinds of twist setting which I generally left in full blast concentrated mode due to low pressure in the old pipes here.

The Moen is 7 inches across with even holes that push out the water. I wasn't sure about the wide spread on the shower faucet until I tried it. They say the pressure is 3 x other brands, and I can say that this design does get the job done. It sprays all the way across my back instead of being all in one spot. With the good pressure, that works out better than having to move all around to get wet and rinsed.

This Moen showerhead does tilt up and down and back and forth. That's it on the settings. But, I like the way it works, so I don't miss the twist knob shower head we tossed out during the bathroom remodel. That was just kind of gimmicky.

My plumber also told me that this Moen would save water with the setting and with wide spray with good pressure. He was so right. My water bill dropped $60 a month after we remodeled the bathroom. The savings were not all with the shower head. The toilet was old with a big tank and tended to get hung up. So, I can't say exact amounts on the savings, but every little bit helps. So, the good pressure and wide spray means less water and shorter showers to get the job done.

I love the way the Moen Vitalize Shower Head looks and works. That's why I leave things like this up to my plumber. He knows me and has worked on my house now for 10 years. His ideas are always good, and he keeps what I like in mind. This was just perfect for around here, and although it's a fairly expensive shower head, it does have a limited lifetime warranty. As long as we don't swing on it, I think we're good.

Bummer. Don't tell my boys. They may use that as an excuse not to shower (-: Tks for sharing that though. Interesting.

Did you see or read where shower heads are now supposedly spewing forth bacteria? What next?! Copy & paste link below...

Great review! We're always looking for a better shower head - most just don't cut it . . . I'm seriously thinking of investing in one of these!
