When our kitchen and bathrooms were remodeled several years ago, all of our "contractor special" faucets were tossed in favor of one single brand, Moen.

In our kitchen, we have a Moen Extensa Model 7560C.  It has a chrome finish and it features a single low-arc handle and a pull-out sprayer. The design is simple and at the same time elegant.  The single handle moves both vertically and horizontally to control water flow and temperature.

The ability to pull the sprayer away from the faucet often comes in handy whether cleaning painting tool or filling a bucket too large to be placed in the sink.

Of course there are several companies that manufacture this type of faucet.  But as a homeowner for the last 30 years I've always been impressed with the quality and durability of Moen products.  I particularly appreciate the lifetime warranty that Moen offers on this faucet.

Just this week

After serving us faithfully for almost 10 years our kitchen faucet in fact broke.  The lever came off in my daughter's hand!

Examining the handle it was obvious that a small metal piece (the adapter/connector I later learned) had fractured.

After going to their web-site for model information I called Moen at their 1-800- BUYMOEN number and I took a deep breath.

Customer Service

In the US, where most companies have all but abandoned responsive customer service Moen offers a pleasant surprise.  A representative helped me identify the part I needed and offered to have it express delivered (next day).  Ordinarily the express shipping charge is $20 but in this case it was being waived.  Long story short, the faucet is now fully operational again.

My Viewpoint

Yes, Moen faucets are expensive.  The Extensa is a mid-priced faucet yet it is still $360.  On the other hand, after 10 years it is still as beautiful as it was new.  But more than anything else, their friendly, responsive customer service has made me a customer for life.  Way to go.

Excellent review - well written and concise.

I average 12 or so faucet installations per year (handyman) and admittedly get a little excited when the client springs for a Moen - and they never regret it.

Kudos.

Especially since there's a Moen Sweepstakes going on!

I was just looking at your review and my husband was sitting next to me ... he said "We have a Moen faucet." I had no idea that was the brand name. I should review it!
