Moen 7434 Chateau Single Handle Centerset Kitchen Faucet with Side Spray Review

When we moved to this house all of the faucets were original to the house the house was about 9 years old when we moved in.  The faucets all worked fine for many years but a few years back our kitchen sing started to have some leaking problems.  My brother in law came over to fix it and thought that it was probably time that we got a new faucet. The old faucet was not looking that great anymore anyways.  It looked as if it had been chrome plated and the plating was coming off. 

My brother in law took care of ordering it for me on a site called Home Perfect.  I told him I wanted something similar to what we had but I wanted it to be chrome and not chrome plated or any other type of material; and he picked out this faucet for me which was exactly what I wanted and was perfect for my kitchen. I did not install it but according to my manua it has a 3 Hole Application 1/2 IPS Connections 8 1/2 supplies.

The budget was tight at the time so I did not want to spend more than $100 for a new faucet.  Lucky for me I saw the Moen 7434 Chateau Single Handle Centerset Kitchen Faucet with Side Spray for around $75.00 and it was very similar to the faucet that we arleady had.

The Moen 7434 Chateau Single Handle Centerset Kitchen Faucet with Side Spray has a single handle that you move upwards and side to side to get to the proper temperature. It moves around easily almost feeling like it is rolling from side to although it is not.  But using it is very simple and it allows you to get perfect temperature adjustments. 

The faucet is fairly standard it curves up slightly to give you a little more room for filling large pots. There is not a tremendous slope though as this is a more traditional faucet with just a slight raise in it.  The lever has a Lever Handle 9 1/2 Spout Reach.  The actual handle is not very large but it is perfectly sized, but if you like a large handle for what ever reason you might want to choose a different faucet.  Personally I like the handle and the size of it and the fact that it is right above the faucet and does not take up space on the sides. Sometimes my hand slips off it but not very often.  And while the actual handle is small the base of it is nicely sized and has a good visual appearance. 

the Moen 7434 Chateau single Handle Certerset Kitchen Faucet also comes with a sprayer.  The sprayer sits off to the side of the faucet.  It has a comfortable feel about it and puts out a nice amount of pressure.  The faucet and sprayer are made of chrome.

My brother in law had it all assembled in less than an hour and had said that it was very easy to install.  He had no problems with the installation what so ever. 

Thoughts and Experience

So far we have not had any problems with this Moen faucet set.  It cleans up well and works nicely and is not overwhelming in my kitchen.  There is no scratching or rusting and it still looks very nice. We have also not had any more leaking.  Everything seems to still be tightly set and working well.

I really like the sprayer and I like the amount of pressure I get from it.  It is very nice when washing dishes to give them a good spray to loosen stuff up before I wash them and I really appreciate that nice pressure.  I also think that the length that I can pull the sprayer out is very good too.  I can't pull it out too far, but it is not too short either it pulls out the perfect amount to use for dish washing. 

The slight raise in the faucet is also very nice, my old faucet was more flat and when I had out my big pasta pot I used to have to manoeuvre it to fit it under the faucet.  With this faucet my past pot fits under it just perfectly.

Since I don't have a large kitchen I appreciate that the handle is on top of the faucet and that the sprayer is not so huget that it takes up a lot of space.  I need to keep my dish soap in that area, and I also keep a can of Cleanser up there as well, as well as the dishwasher powder and thanks to the compact design I am able to keep all of those things up there. So it provides me with a little extra space which is very much needed in our kitchen.

I keep my Moen 7434 Chateau Single Handle Centerset Kitchen Faucet with Side Spray looking pretty and clean by sprinkling a bit of Cleanser on it gently cleaning it and rinsing the wash clothe and then allowing the wash cloth to wipe off cleanser and I follow up with a dry towel to dry it off to keep it looking nice.  The chrome looks lovely and spotless after cleaning.

If you are looking for a more traditional looking faucet with a singe handle to save on space and a sprayer and you are on a tight budget I recommend the the Moen 7434 Chateau single Handle Centerset Kitchen faucet with sprayer.  It is a nice functional faucet with a nice sized sprayer and handle that does not over whealm a smaller kitchen.
