Most HelpfulFirst of all, I don't watch alot of "Network Television". But this show has changed all that~! It's a great take on probably what alot of "modern" families are about...and even if the characters are not relateable, somewhere in there we might see a bit of ourselves ~ or our families.
it's so funny...

Most HelpfulSo what's "A Mockumentary"? Presented to the viewing audience in documentary style...it mocks just about everything. In episode one, we meet 3 families; The Delgado-Pritchett Family, The Dunphy Family and lastly - the strangest gay couple you'll ever find - Cameron & Mitchell.
Ed O'Neill from "Married...
read full review »I love sarcasm and satire. The new ABC sitcom Modern Family delivers! Wednesday night is mine and my hubby's new night of comedy. It is such a funny and realistic portrayal of normal living of, well, modern families.
The new ABC comedy Modern Family is a raw and funny look at challenges of every day life of three modern families whose lives intertwine as relatives. This comedic satire is created by Steven Levitan (brilliant Writer/Director of "Just Shoot Me" and "Wings") and Christopher Lloyd (talented Writer/Director of "Frasier" and "Wings"). Starring Ed O'Neill ("Married With...
read full review »"Modern Family", one of the new fall tv shows has a cast of very funny characters! You can watch this funny new comedy every Wednesday evening at 8:00 PM.
"Modern Family" is a half-hour tv show featuring three related families. First, there is a funny couple with three children, with Julie Bowen, a wonderful beautiful classy blonde actress that you will recognize from prior tv shows, and her dry-humor husband trying to raise their three young kids. They live in the same town as Julie's gay brother and his gay husband who have adopted a new baby. These two gay guys have been given the...
read full review »I'm not typically a fan of sitcoms. I tend to watch more drama-type shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, etc instead. I accidentally caught the very first episode of Modern Family this season while cooking dinner. I was hooked less than 10 minutes into the show! The casting is SO perfect. The storylines and the writing are ingenious & really seem to draw people in from all walks of life. The sarcastic and sometimes self-depracating humor makes you try not to take yourself so seriously. It's a tribute to those sometimes quirky, yet still loveable, family members that we all have. Even...
read full review »Modern Family reminds me of the of old comedies I use to watch when I was growing up. It is really hard to find a good comedy on TV now with on the reality shows. This is like the good old days. I find the characters hilarious. I enjoy the interactions of the three families and seeing how they come together. This show has examples of the different types of families we have in this day and ages, the traditional two parent family, the second marriage and the homosexual couple. We get to see husband and wife, brother and sister as well as parent and child interactions.Every show I have watched so...
read full review »Modern Family is a new mockumentary-style sitcom on ABC this fall. The story focuses around three different families. First, there's the "traditional" nuclear family, the neurotic mom, the wannabe hip dad, and their three kids. Second, there's the (adorable) gay couple who have recently adopted a baby from Asia. Finally, there's the older man who recently married a young, beautiful (hilariously Colombian) woman with an older-than-his-years son. The twist to the show is that all of these families are connected; the older man is the father of the mother in they typical family and one of the gay men....
read full review »At first when I watched the previews I wasn't quite sure what to expect but when I saw Ed O'Neil in the show and the lady that used to be on the show "Ed", I knew I had to check it out. I absolutely love this show and so does the rest of my family. The writing is so good. This is the type of show that needs to be recorded so you can watch it more than once because you can miss a few things because you are having so much fun laughing or enjoying a part of the scene that you end up missing another part. This show tells us that different types of family dynamics do work together. The writing is so...
read full review »Modern Family is one of the best new comedy shows of the season. The gay couple w/Lily make me laugh, esp. when they are dressing her up in wigs & taking pictures of her. The son in law that stole that kids bike to teach his son a lesson was funny. And the man that played Al Bundy. He's great in his role w/the young, beautiful Columbian wife & stepson.
MODERN FAMILY is the best new TV show this year! The combination of subtle humor along with the "in-your-face" humor makes for a 1/2 hour of pure entertainment! The only bad thing is that it is only 1/2 hour!
