Moby Wrap Review Summary

With an average rating of 4.5 stars the Moby Wrap is described as one of the best baby slings available. The Moby Wrap is essentially a long piece of cloth that the user ties up to create a baby carrier. Summed up nicely one mom states, “the sheer volume of fabric can be overwhelming but once you get the hang of using it, it is a breeze.” One tip reviewers give is to tie the Moby on prior to leaving home so you can just slide baby in when you get to your destination. With the versatility of the Moby Wrap there are a variety of positions you can place baby in, making it perfect for babies of any size. Baby feels secure and you'll know he's safe. In addition the Moby Wrap allows for baby's weight to be evenly distributed making for a comfortable baby wearing experience. “Well worth every penny,” moms and babies both love the Moby Wrap. Fantastic moby wrap. I have the turquoise one, and it really is great. I carry her most every day, when I need to get things done, or when I really need two hands. She feels safe and secure, but can explore the world also. I tried all of the other more common carriers, and I always felt detached and... read full review »

I wanted to love the Moby Wrap, but I couldn't. It was just too long and bulky for a quick wrap in public. Also, the back carry is impossible to put on by yourself and looks dangerous. The newborn hold didn't work well for me, either. My baby did enjoy the out-facing carry until about four months...

The Moby Wrap is a great product for smaller babies.  The packaging and website says that this carrier can be used up to 35 lbs, and while that may be true structurally, comfortwise, that is not the case.  I have found that this carrier is comfortable for the wearer for children up to 18-20 lbs.  After that, it can still be used, but it is not terribly comfortable because the material is stretchy and will sag with the baby's weight.  The packaging material also shows that this carrier can be used for back carries, though I absolutely disagree.  First, it is very hard to put it on correctly... read full review »

I was given a ring sling when I had my first child.  I tried as hard as I could to use it, but just could never get used to the feeling that my son was not securely snuggled up to me.  I contantly felt scared that he was going to fall out!

Well, after trying the Moby Wrap with my 3rd child - I can't believe I went so long without knowing about this wrap!

I have a 2 year old daughter, who is very active, so I knew I would need something to keep the baby next to me, while still having 2 hands to tend to my daughter's needs.  So I ordered a Moby Wrap in navy blue in my 8th month.  The day I received...

After trying a Snugli and a Hotsling for my Daughter I was discouraged on the idea of baby wearing.
The Snugli had buckles that dug into my skin and it pulled on my neck/shoulder muscles causing pain.
The Hotsling came with a DVD instructional video and after watching it about 10 times I was frustrated and my poor little girl was upset also.
When I found out I was pregnant again, I started reasearching other types of carriers. I decided against the Bjorn because it was too similar to the Snugli at a much higher price. I was put off by slings because of the experience we'd had with the Hotsling....

OMG I can not tell you how in love with my Moby wrap I am! When my daughter was born she weighed in at just under 10 lbs...so the idea of having to lug a car seat around with me just wasn't happening. She could NEVER stand the stroller system put together---so I was VERY thankful when I bought a Moby before she was born! My only regret in the hospital was not bringing it with me! When she hits about 3 weeks colic set in and NOTHING would help her---we tried all the remedies---a lot of times just going in the Moby would help...but when it wouldn't, it still allowed me to carry her around, get everything... read full review »

I used a Moby Wrap baby carrier with my first daughter and it was a lifesaver. The wrap is simply a long piece of stretchy fabric that's tied around the parent, creating a safe pocket for the baby.

Although it may seem complicated at first, it's easy to use after just a few tries because of the full color instruction manual. This baby carrier is comfortable for both parent and baby and my daughter spent many hours sleeping peacefully in it while I went about my normal, pre-baby routine. The fabric is long and can be difficult to tie on in public because it tends to drag on the ground. To combat...

I cannot even begin to describe what a life saver this wrap was. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I spent a lot of time researching different baby carriers. I knew I was going to breastfeed, I knew I did not want a 'mainstream' baby carrier (such as a Snuggli), and I knew it had to be easy to put on and actually use, since I was also going to have a two year old when my daughter was born.  I got the wrap when I was about 37 weeks pregnant. I had spent a lot of time trying to choose between a sling and a wrap. I finally decided on a wrap, and due to a lot of good reviews, I chose the Moby...

I loved the Moby Wrap when my son was a newborn.  Its stretchy, soft material held my baby close to me, while leaving my hands free to deal with my 3 year old!  I have always been a bit scared of traditional guaze wraps, but the Moby is so easy to use.  I mastered it in about an hour.  I carried my baby everywhere in this wrap and I was often stopped by strangers asking where they could buy one because it looked so comfortable.  It is comfortable for both baby and parent and because there's no size or straps to adjust, both parents can use it without annoying each other by changing the settings. ... read full review »

I just started using the Moby wrap three days ago and I've already fallen in love with it!  My baby is a little fussy while getting situated in the wrap, but falls asleep quickly after getting settled.  It's a wonderful product and I would recommend it to anyone!  It does get pretty warm for both baby and I after wearing it for 20 minutes or so, but I know it will be a great product to continue using in the winter.  I probably wouldn't venture out in our summer Arizona heat in it though!

I received this as a gift.  I had also tried the Infantino baby sling and baby carrier.  I'd throw them both away after I got ahold of this carrier.  Worth every penny.  Very comfortable to wear.  Many different positions and holds that can be done with this one wrap.  I'm recommending this wrap to everyone I know.  Really cut down on my sore back from carrying my son all day.  I even painted my kitchen carrying my son in here.  and he was 12 months old!!!!!

The Moby Wrap is a fun and fashionable way to carry baby around.  It comes in all kinds of colors.  I got black so that my husband would use it.  He does, and it's great.  It also comes with a little book that shows you the different ways to use the wrap.  It seems a tad complicated at first, but if you just practice with it 2 or 3 times, it's a cinch.  When my husband or I use it, we always dress lightly because it can make you feel quite hot.

I really like my Moby Wrap.  It's much more comfortable than the snugglie carrier I had.  The problem is that it's VERY hard and confusing to put on.  It's one really long piece of cloth that you wrap around your body a couple of times.  There are lots of different ways to carry your baby and a really easy way to breastfeed while using it.  Don't use it in the summer.. you'll melt!  But it's great extra layer in the winter.

I was pretty skeptical when I heard about this. I was used to the Maya wrap...but after getting the han gof it, I LOVE it. It keep the baby so close & snug on you, which is exactly what they want. & it carries the weght like you did while they were in your belly. Much better on your back & Shoulders. Its especially great for those days when you need to get some things done & they are being clingy.

I love my moby wrap. I have always been a baby wearer. I used ring slings and stil;l do but the moby wrap is great! IT works well for newborns to bigger kids. It really distributes the weight of the child better then a ring sling. Great for discreat nursing!
