Moby Wrap —

I cannot even begin to describe what a life saver this wrap was. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I spent a lot of time researching different baby carriers. I knew I was going to breastfeed, I knew I did not want a 'mainstream' baby carrier (such as a Snuggli), and I knew it had to be easy to put on and actually use, since I was also going to have a two year old when my daughter was born.  I got the wrap when I was about 37 weeks pregnant. I had spent a lot of time trying to choose between a sling and a wrap. I finally decided on a wrap, and due to a lot of good reviews, I chose the Moby wrap. When I first got it, I was super excited, and just a bit apprehensive. It's a long piece of cloth that is tapered on the end. So I started messing around with it, and practiced a bit with a doll (yes, embarassing, but I wanted it down pat before baby came!). My little girl was born in August, and we live in CA, and it was HOT. However, I started using the wrap almost immediately (I wore her the first time when she was four days old!), and I was surprised to see, that it wasn't really that hot wearing her. I heard a lot of times that it was because of our close proximity all the time (breastfeeding, cosleeping, and babywearing - she was literally only not on me when we were in the car), my body adapted to make sure she didn't overheat. I loved knowing that all of this closeness was so natural, that my body knew what to do to keep us both comfortable. I got some negative comments but most people seemed to think it was pretty nifty. I think the thing I heard most was that I was going to raise her to be spoiled and 'unnaturally' attached to me. It's funny because now she's a happy, healthy, INDEPENDANT (almost) two year old, who occasionally still likes to be worn in the Moby. I definitely reccomend this!
