I used a Moby Wrap baby carrier with my first daughter and it was a lifesaver. The wrap is simply a long piece of stretchy fabric that's tied around the parent, creating a safe pocket for the baby.
Although it may seem complicated at first, it's easy to use after just a few tries because of the full color instruction manual. This baby carrier is comfortable for both parent and baby and my daughter spent many hours sleeping peacefully in it while I went about my normal, pre-baby routine. The fabric is long and can be difficult to tie on in public because it tends to drag on the ground. To combat this, I always pre-tied the wrap before getting into the car and simply popped my baby in once we got to our destination.
The carrier is easy to care for and can be simply tossed into the washer and dryer - a must for babies who spit up. Because there are no buckles, it can easily be shared between parents or other caregivers. The Moby Wrap comes in many colors, from pastel pink and purple to black and olive green. Three years ago it could only be purchased online, but recently Target has started to carry the wraps. They cost around $40 and are worth every penny.
When I found out I was expecting my 2nd child, the Moby Wrap was one of my first new purchases. Love it!
