After lots of research, I decided to get a Moby Wrap. I wanted a comfortable sling that was gentle on my back, allowed me to wear my baby without straps and was one-size-fits-all since I wanted to share it with my husband and he is a lot taller than me.
My baby was born in March and we live in Houston, TX, so it gets *HOT* during the Summer months. I got a cotton light-colored Moby, thinking that it would be the best match for the heat. Unfortunately I could only use my wrap until June or so... afterwards it was WAY TOO HOT outside to use it.
I was disappointed... until October came along! Now my baby is 7.5 months old and weights nearly 20 lbs. I'm only 5'4" and 105 lbs but the Moby allows me to carry him without putting any strain in my back, neck or shoulders. Last week I spent 2-3 hours wearing my baby at the Zoo without any troubles at all.. and he LOVES the Moby too.
I have another sling, that I used during Summer because it's lighter than the Moby. I like it too, but since it sits on one shoulder, I cannot wear it for more than 30-45 min before I start having pain.
For long-term baby wearing and to carry a newborn around the house... I wouldn't change my Moby for any other sling.
