My boyfriend bought this olive oil sprayer thinking it would be a very convenient way to use olive oil both for cooking and salads. I make my own salad dressing with oil and vinegar, so I use olive oil a lot. Well, this sprayer was not convenient at all; I found that I was trying to make myself use it because it was "supposed to work well" though in actuality it was much easier to just pour the olive oil. The design of the bottle is not good. In the time it takes to fill, wipe the oil that gets on the sides, twist the lid closed, and then refill when it runs out, you could have just poured what you needed from the regular bottle. Within a short period of time, the container wouldn't close correctly, so we ended up just throwing the whole thing out. Interesting idea I guess, if you are trying to use less oil, but it doesn't really work. Ease of Cleaning Poor design makes the whole thing sloppy. Durability It wouldn't close completely after only using it for a short time.

I was rather skeptical about whether I would actually use the Misto when I purchased it. I knew in theory that the idea was a good one, who doesn't want to eat healthier these days! Well, I can now say that the Misto is an indispensable part of my kitchen and I rarely cook a meal without using it! The aluminum is attractive enough to stay out on my counter next to the stove. This misto works superbly. It dispenses the right amount of oil to spray a pan when I need to or even for my salads. I end up using a lot less olive oil and that is a great thing not only because it is healthier for my family, but also because good olive oil is rather expensive and the misto makes it go that much further so I don't need to purchase a bottle as often as I used to. It is really easy to use too. Just pump the cover up & down a few times and then use the aerosol button just like you would with PAM only this is much healthier because there is no propellant or chemicals, just whichever healthy oil you want to use in your kitchen.

I recently purchased the misto with the goal of eliminating the need for cooking sprays. I love that I can control the kind of oil that I use, as well as the amount. The misto gets a little oily after using, and requires a quick wipe. Also, I read that to avoid clogs, it's best to open the lid after using (every single time), to release the pressure. I don't think it is very easy to clean, so that is my biggest complaint.

I bought this sprayer so that I could use healthier cooking spray in my cooking.  I really like the idea of spraying olive oil onto a pan to cook chicken, pork, etc.  For the most part, it was a good investment- I'm sure that I've saved money by buying this sprayer instead of always buying canned spray.  Plus I'm using straight olive oil so I never have to worry about what else is in it.  There have been a couple of issues, though.  Mine does seem to clog easily, which causes it to not have a strong spray.  The pumping mechanism worked for awhile, but the spray gradually became weaker and weaker.  I also noticed that it's easy for the olive oil to go rancid while it's sitting in the sprayer.  I'm not sure if it's because I keep the sprayer right on the oven so maybe it's being exposed to higher level of heat than what is good for olive oil.  But I still use it and I still like knowing what is in my oil spray instead of using a canned sprayer.

I love this product and think the person who thought it up should be given an award of some kind! I have always had non-stick spray on hand. You need it for so very many things, but ounce for ounce it is very expensive stuff! And it never last very long. The Misto is great! I get to choose the oil that I put into it and it uses only air to spray , no other chemicals or bad things for the enviroment! If you over fill it it will give you a bit a of trouble so try to not go crazy and fill it to much, it does not need a lot in it to work. It is super easy to use, just pump, pump, pump and spray! It is not as even as say PAM spray but it is fueled by air, not chemicals so you have to weigh the ups and down to that. If it does clog, which does happen (but it happenes with store non-stick sprays as well) just run the sprayer under hot water for a minute and you will get a nice clean spray again. I honestly love this thing and think it was a great invention!

We, my wife and me, bought the Misto olive oil sprayer about 8 months ago, and it is our most used kitchen gagdet, used almost daily, actually pretty much daily if counting by average! Before this we used the store bought spray bottle type, which besides the fact that when they are empty they had to be thrown out, we had to use whatever oil type was available in the particular spray bottle at the particular store. With the Misto, even though it's is named "the Olive Oil Sprayer" we are of course free to use whatever oil we want, but yes we do use virgin olive oil as we use olive oil for almost all our cooking requiring oil, except when specifically noted as for example sesame oil in Asian dishes. I even use it in sauces instead of butter. As for the Misto sprayer, we use it to spray pots, pans and skillets with a thin even layer of virgin olive oil when cooking anything from pork chops and steaks, to burgers and chicken breasts. We love it and can highly recommend it to everyone who loves to cook and care about their health and the envrionment.

The misto brushed aluminum olive oil sprayer is a great "tool" to have in the kitchen. Olive oil has been shown to be a healthy addition to many of the foods we eat - if we use it in moderation. This can sometimes be hard when you're pouring it out of a bottle. Also, when pouring, it can be very difficult to evenly distribute the oil over all the food you're cooking. Some people use cans of sprays from the grocery store, but studies have shown that the chemicals used to propel oil in aerosol cans is not healthy for us. To use the misto brushed aluminum olive oil sprayer, all you have to do is fill it with your desired olive oil, pump, and spray. No chemicals or propellants! It is great to use with roasting, sauteeing, grilling, and basting without brushes. You can use it on meat, pasta, veggies, pizza, salads and more. It is also okay to use it with any type of cookware. However, in order to keep spraying with your misto sprayer, you MUST clean it regularly. If you do not clean it, it will not spray, but will release oil in a stream.

The Misto Olive Oil Sprayer is worth the money.  I like how I can buy my favorite olive oil and use this to create an olive oil cooking spray I like.  I am a very picky eater and cook so finding something that I will truely use on a daily basis is a hard thing to do.  The only thing I dont like is the texture of the can and that for some reason when my husband refills it it tends to leak.  But I try to be the one who refills it to cut down on the mess I would have to clean up later.  The sprayer helps me create healthy meals for my family that I am proud to feed them.  With the health of my heart taking a beating from having five boys we try to only eat heart smart items and teaching our kids that eating healthy makes your body grow healthy and feel better is an important thing for us to teach them in today's society.  I really can not say enough good things about this sprayer because of how wonderful it truely is.  I highly recommend this to anyone, infact it is going to be a special present in my parent's gift basket this year.

I love this product. My mom turned me on to this years ago. we are big olive oil users in my family. That being said, we also know we need to cut calories.  Misto allows you to load it with your oil of choice and then sprays it (think shower nozzle misty) over your food. the gist is since it's "misted" there's so little on there, you don't have any calories to contend with (or so few it renders them nil).  Unlike pouring, where it's usually more than you want/ need and doesn't get distributed evenly, this makes all bites have enough taste without the excess.  additionally, you don't have the soggy factor you get when you dump salad dressing all over your food.   The even distribution allows you to save your salad without worry about that.  IT's also great for cooking (like non stick spray but non-aerosal and you can choose your oil).  The containers also attractive so that's a bonue. OVerall a great product.

I like how it sprays a little oil out. I use it on the stuff I'm going to put into the pan to cook, rather than pour olive oil into the pan. I think that is a healthier way to use olive oil. I put the veggies on the chopping board, cut them, then use this to spray the oil on ever so lightly. My only complaint is that it is hard to refill since it's hard to unscrew the top and the opening to pour into is rather small. It gets all slippery especially around the mouth. That being said, it does it's job and I use it each and every day. I also use it on salad and add a few drops of balsamic vinegar and there you have a nice and healthy dressing. It alows you to easily control how much fat you get on the lettuce, etc in your salad bowl. If you use a lot of olive oil then I really suggest getting this. We buy very expensive yummy olive oil and I think by spraying it you end up stretching the olive oil out over time and really end up saving money!
