Missouri State University —
Missouri State University, home of the Bears. I have enjoyed every class that I've taken here, and all of my instructors have been very helpful. The communication department rocks (that is my major), and the math department (my minor), makes sure you know your stuff. The social work department has had some major issues, and was almost closed down by the state due to this. So, be careful about choosing this school, and make sure the department for your major and minor both have a good reputation, and no bad reports.When it comes to student organizations, if you want it you will likely find it or something close enough to make you happy. For students who may have a disability, make sure you are working with the school well in advance of starting. If your disability is a major physical one such as being in a wheel chair or being blind you should have very little problems getting accomodated. If your disability is less noticable and maybe less common you need to make sure you are the one hunting down your accomodations and you tell the school what needs to be done and demand it. This school is not known for being proactive and telling you what is available you have to ask. The athletics departments do well in some sports but are not known for all of them. This is the only school that I know of that from first game on all of the girls basketball games are packed. However the same cannot be said for the mens basketball team. The dorms, (from what i've been told by others), are average and they do try to make sure it's a good experience for all.
