Some of us are pretty relaxed and some pretty anal, but we all have our "buttons." What can a guy or girl do that will totally turn you off?

5) Being ignorant of basic high school education topics

6) not being able to spell

If she wants you to stop doing activities and/or hobbies you enjoy because she has different interests or hobbies.

Smoking is a big turn off.

Bad hygiene or not caring about one's looks That is, basic stuff like showering, teeth, etc.

Arrogant or egotistical guys make me want to vomit. I don't care WHO they are or what they accomplished.

Crude or disrespectful guys, especially those who yell or sling insults when upset. And if they do that in public? A complete and total turn off no matter what the reason for the outburst.

Any man with a history of abuse or ones who don't take care of their kids both emotionally and financially.

Smoking is also on my turnoff list.

Talking too much about herself.

Getting falling-down drunk.

Too much makeup.

Too much jewelry.

Too much tan (yes, this doesn't look healthy to me).

Racist.

Too focused on clothes and appearance.

Tattoos. I don't like 'em on men, either.

Women who like bad boys. I will never be bad enough for them, so that's an instant turn-off.

Not that I'm looking or anything...

  1. Lying
  2. Or...withholding the truth (Same thing in my book)
  3. Too pushy
  4. Move too fast (Once dated a gal that was talking MARRIAGE after 3 dates!)
  5. Too many "EX" husbands
  6. Too much make-up
  7. Bad manners
  8. Just like bkovacs...Tattoos!  YUCK!
  9. Inability to see another point of view.  You don't have to agree...just be able to understand it & converse in an intelligent manner.
  10. Too much PDA (public displays of affection) Small kisses & holding hands...OK.  Wait until we get home to seduce me!

Is it any wonder I married once...and that was it?  Sorry gals, I'm back to being a bachelor - for life.

A turn off for me is someone that doesn't have a good and kind heart. For me looks arent everything. I go for the heart. And a preson that will work with me.

1. Jealousy and/or insecurity

2. Lack of basic grooming/the "all-day-in-a-housecoat" look. My last ex used to lounge about all day with her housecoat and jammies all day long and it really bothered me that she wouldn't get dressed in regular clothes.

3. Obesity. Yes, I've dated "big beautiful women" and I'm not looking for Playboy centerfolds now, but geez.  What happened to average, non-model skinny but not BBW types?

4. Smoking.

5. Tattoos unless they're small and in surprising places.

6. EXCESSIVE drinking

7.  Dishonesty.

8. Comparisons to ex-husbands, ex-boyfriends, or even ex-girlfriends (if you're, you know, bi). Even if they are favorable to me, it''s not nice

9.  Drug use.

10. Demanding that I give up all my female friends.  I can't help it if I get along better with women than with many guys.

The whole "bad boys" thing irritated me "back in the day" when I was younger, particularly during my first year in junior high.  I'm not the most exciting person in the world, I admit, but I'm personable, kind, try to be thoughtful to others, and I'm not terribly unattractive.  So when I noticed that the "hottest" girls tended to flock toward the rock-star emulating (looks-wise) and moody guys, it threw me for a loop.

Another big turn-off....

Being led on or used by someone who knows you like her....a LOT....then being told that she was just seeing how interested in her you are.

Yeah. It's bad to play with the feelings of others.

Other turn offs:

Drinking more than just a bit. I really can't deal with guys who get drunk or drinks a lot. Now and then, sure, but I would never be with someone who was more than a very casual social drinker.

Drug use. Any recreational drugs would be a big turn off and I would not go near the guy.

Intense jealousy. A guy who can't deal with a woman having friends or going out now and then is a big turn off. Those who feel the need to check a woman's email or look through her purse or listen in on her phone conversations aren't worth anyone's time. That is just so irrational and I know many guys who do that stuff.

Not sharing. That is as in talking about things that are important to them and listening to things that are important to me. If a guy bottles everything up and doesn't talk to me, it really bugs me. My husband is one of those guys. I love him but I'd like to change that about him. He just will not talk about what is on his mind, worrying him, bothering him, or really, anything else. He feels I have enough to worry about and I don't need to hear his issues. But I do! It's one sided otherwise.

Guys with a very short fuse who go nuts in traffic, get all mad in restaurants, and basically are in a foul mood more often than not. Yuck. That's such a turn off.

Here are three from my Army days:

Getting falling-down drunk (especially on a weeknight), or even "Martini Lunches" why are you drinking hard alcohol at lunch?

Tobacco/recreational drug use of any kind... especially nasty snuff and chewing tobacco! The offices at Maddog Company always had disgusting nasty soda bottles around with the labels ripped off full of tobacco spit! Really? Did you need to be told that that is beyond disgusting?

Using the "f" word every other word. You sound like an uneducated idiot.

I don't like anyone that has no self confidence! People that sit around and whine about their perceived shortcomings or how the world is against them is a total turn-off. Either do something about it or accept yourself. Whichever you choose, stop telling me about everything that's wrong with you!

Bad tippers!

Drama Kings/Queens... I don't need the performance, just the information.

Meddlers, or those who offer unsolicited advice of ANY KIND.

You know what they say about tattoos! People with them don't care if you DON'T have any! ha ha ha

When a guy comes on to you really hard and won't quit.

A complete and total loudmouth, tries to get attention too much.

You can't really offend me or turn me off except for those 2 things. I think body functions are funny, I love a sense of humor, I HATE cocky, loudmouth showoffs who think they can get any girl. I'm all about the underdog, quiet and stands off to the side and has a great heart.

At the top of my list is lying, smoking, bad hygiene, and guys that think they are "God's gift". Probably in that order too

1. be dishonest 2. untrustworth 3. be rude 4. show no affections toward you 5. give you tough love rather than uncondition love from the heart 6. a cheater 7. being deceitful 8. not self-impotant about themselves 9. no job 10. always spending time with friends

I get turned off when men tend to be conceited.  They think they are the hottest things on earth and women are inferior beings.  I think I am as great as anyone else.  I can't stand a liar, but hate a dumb one.  The one that think you should swallow whatever line of fried ice cream they hand you.  I have been there and done that.  I can deal with you cheating, but when you freak out if I cheat, that's a big one.
