It says on the reviews page that you can review ANYTHING its in big bold letters so why doesn't anyone on here review anything bad? lol I am just scared to death to review something of a sexual nature on here because I think I will get in trouble lol. Has anyone tried to review a naughty product and did it get posted? I'm not this huge pornographic sexually charged person but some stuff I would like to see reviews about like lubrication and things of this nature. Is it aloud?

A few of the ladies have, indeed, written about lubricants and things of that nature, and I wrote a review about a soft-core erotic DVD starring Anna Nicole Smith.  So people here are allowed to write about adult products as long as the reviews are written in a way that doesn't upset anyone.

Whether this means that we can add items like Rebecca's Housewives at Play series of erotic comics, that's a bit dicier.  You might want to do a product search first. If it's in the database, you can review it.  If not, you might want to ask Meredith or another staff member just what is and what's not acceptable in Viewpoints.

LOL wow I'm new on here and trust me people would think I'm a freak if I reviewed some of the sexual stuff on here. I'm into lubes and gadgets and have a few of them for play time with my special some one but how would you review that?

Hello KaciOhio,

Although Viewpoints does encourage a wide variety of review types, you can't literally review anything.  There are lubrication reviews here.  This is a community, so there are a couple rules which I copy and pasted here for you.  From the Community Compass found under the community tab:

"What if I want to write about a product or service that is not listed?"

If you don't see a product or service that you want to write a review on, add it. Go to write a review and follow the prompts to add the review into our system. We ask that you do not post reviews on firearms, pornography and illegal drugs  ."

Also from the Viewpoints Terms of Service:

Without limiting the generality of any other provisions of these Terms of Service, you agree:

  • You may not post, upload or transmit any User Content that (i) infringes or otherwise violates any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, publicity or privacy right or other proprietary right of any party, or (ii) is proprietary to a third party, without such third party's prior written consent.
  • You will post only User Content you believe in good faith to be true and accurate, and you will not post to the Viewpoints Site any User Content that is false, inaccurate, misleading or fraudulent.
  • The following is a partial list of the kind of User Content that is illegal and/or is prohibited on or through the Viewpoints Site. You may not post any content that:
    • is patently offensive to users of the Viewpoints Site, such as content that promotes , bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
    • harasses or advocates harassment of another person;
    • promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive;
    • is threatening, obscene, defamatory or libelous;
    • is pornographic or sexually explicit in nature; or
    • seeks, or recommends providers of, material that exploits people under the age of 18 in a sexual or violent manner, or seeks or recommends providers that solicit personal information from anyone under 18.

I hope this answers your question.

AnnaBanana,

Since you have a long history of writing reviews on such *fun* topics as firearms, pornongraphy and illegal drugs, I am sure the news was devastating :)  Man, we'll just have to stick to food, beauty, baby, health and home to get our jollies :)

Hello 520, as I have previously stated on this thread, you can review almost anything you want.  However, you cannot review anything like: firearms, pornography, illegal drugs, anything sexually explicit or anything that is offensive to others.

This2, you lost some letters there :)  Unless you are saying we can't review anything that ends in ography haha.

Well I say outside of those 3 things, review anything you feel comfortable reviewing.  If the review is in appropriate language and helpful to those who might look up the topic, then it will be appreciated by those who need the info.

That's so funny!  Sorry, I have a filter on my computer that blocks certain words, so I have to go back in later and fix them so people can recognize the words :)

  Well I want to say I dont have a filter except me,and I am glad I missed this conversation since I have chosen to be alone for 2 years now and I have met some wonderful ladies here and that is the farthest thing from my mind. all I have thought of is how nice just having all of you as my friends is good for me thank you ladies and I think most of you know whjo you are.
