Prime Time Shuttle

Prime Time Shuttle

I'm not usually big on service, meaning: I'm easy to please - not too picky. Me and my husband were flying out of LAX and PRIME SHUTTLE picked us up at our house. Do you think the guy even said "hello"? NOPE! The driver just got out grabbed our bags and literally DID NOT SAY A WORD TO US. I thought it was kind of weird but then said "whatever". So we're driving along and I'm freezing. Bozo driver has both windows all the way down and it's coming right in our face. Do you think he bothered to see if it was too much? NOPE! Then we stop to pick up some other guy along the way and while we are… read full review »

Amtrak Train TRavel

Amtrak Train TRavel

JUL

2008
I was somewhat skeptical when my daughter told me she was buying an "All Florida Pass" for the Amtrak trains. She said that one could use it any time to go anywhere without restrictions of any kind. One could also request sleeping accomodations when one boarded, She said that we did not have to make reservations ever. All we had to do was turn up at the station just before the train arrived and get on the train. All of this for a whole year, and only for $250 per person. I thought it was another of my daughters pie in the sky schemes. But she did turn up with the two $250 "All Florida Passes"… read full review »

Vacation Home - Big Bass Lake, PA

Vacation Home - Big Bass Lake, PA

I spent 3 amazing nights at this Big Bass Lake house and cannot even put into words what a great time we had. The place was spotless when we walked in, not to mention a note from the cleaning people with mints in the shape of a smiley face for all of us. We had about 12 people total, and it was more spacious than we could have imagined. It was the perfect house for us all to spend quality time together, yet not always be ontop of one another. The game room is great for those inclement weather days, and the view from the house is breathtaking. All of the "little things" that you may tend to… read full review »

Take a trip to Central America --- it can be the CHEAPEST vacation you ever took. Every city in the region has hostels with beds for the night as cheap as $2 and every city has hundreds of places where you can filling lunch for about the same price. It's no wonder that adventurous backpackers love tramping around the beautifully lush small countries that make up the region. It's even cheap to get around, as long as you can avoid the temptation of air travel --- which often costs as much for short hop flights as it would for a ticket to Europe. Fortunately, there's a solution: buses. — … read full review »

I and my family love to go north to the pristine waters and shoreline of Pictured Rocks. I would say it is one of my top 5 favorite places in the country to go. It is amazingly beautiful. I love camping along the shoreline and the sparkle that shine across the crystal water at sunset. It's just amazing. —… read full review »

Rancho del Campo Horseback Riding

While my husband and I were in Aruba on an ATV tour of the island, we cam across a company called Rancho Del Campo that provided scenic horseback riding tours. When I saw the horses, they were extremely emaciated. Their hip bones and back bones were protruding. A few of the horses eye lids were droopy from infection, they weren't properly shoed and they had oozing & bloody wounds all over their legs. When the horses were "tied up for rest", the reps giving the tours started to kick a horse. The horses weren't given any water and were eating the wooden posts they were tied up to. These horses… read full review »

Most folks who visit Southwest Florida come for the beaches. Small wonder. The beaches are outstanding. Soft. Gradually sloping. And occasionally heaped high with seashells. — — But if you visit this area and never get off the beach, it's my opinion that your family will be missing one of the great water treats available. — — SunSplash Family Water park is a city-run water extravaganza on 12 acres of Cape Coral. — — Could it have more things going against it? — — Being a city-run anything is usually a kiss of dearth. On top of that, Cape… read full review »

I like travelling on Amtrak from Saint Louis to Kansas City, MO but, they have got to do something about their schedule.  You should be aware that Amtrak does not own the tracks and the freight trains always have the right of way.  When returning from Kansas City, our train has always been no less than 2 hours… read full review »

I am sickened by how I now feel about a campground that I had always loved coming to. — We were planning a great vacation with family and friends in a group campsite. We had paid for the campsite in full and were awaiting the arrival of the rest of our clan. The last of the bunch arrived at 9:15pm. They approached the gate and was told that the gate closed at 9pm and they would have to find another campground or hotel. Our friends explained that they had just driven 4 hours with 2 young children (4 & 2 years of age), that the campsite had already been paid for in full and that we… read full review »

Vacationrentals.com is a web site consisting of privately owned homes, villas and condos all over the world.  What I find outstanding about this site is the cost of the rental is much less than what is listed on other similar sites ie: VRBO.  However, the quality of the listings are very much 4-5 star properties. — When you visit the site you click to select your destination. From the next page you can check off the exact amenities you would like your property to have; price range, sleeping capacity, ocean front, allow pets, no smoking, etc.  At that point the available… read full review »

Last weekend my husband and I took a mini-vacation down to Branson. We decided to visit the Titanic while we were there. That was the neatest attraction that I have seen in a long time. It was reasonably priced ($20 per person) and you got to move at your own pace. However, there was a lot of reading but also a lot of hands on stuff. Well worth the… read full review »

Daufuskie Island is located off the most southern point of Hilton Head, SC.  The only way to get to the island is to park your car and take a ferry ride over.  You need to be prepared...take all of your food, toys and bikes with you.  There are a couple of resorts with restaurants and a general store but you really need to take most of your supplies with you.  — The island is beautiful with a lot of wildlife to see.  Horseback riding from the resort is great but riding around on the golf carts is the best way to explore the island.  Our family has visited… read full review »
