Hamburger Helper Lasagna

Hamburger Helper Lasagna
love to cook and eat, mom to boys, southern cook

JUL

2008
I'm not too proud to cook up Hamburger Helper for dinner. It's quick, easy, and it's filling. The boys love it too - or most of the mixes. — I tend to cook from scratch, but I keep a few fast meal mixes in the cabinet. We don't have fast food in this small town. Calling in a pizza is not an option. So, Hamburger Helper is terrific on those days when things get wild and crazy. — The last time I was at the grocery store I got a box of Hamburger Helper Lasagna. Since I make really great lasagna from scratch, I'd not been selecting a quickie lasagna. But, I remembered that I loved… read full review »

If you are looking for great taste in the McDonalds McGriddle........Id have to say your not going to get it. You'll definetly get a bargain though! I took my son to have a Mcgriddle for breakfast he's 5. We normally would not eat McDonalds,I thought I was giving him a treat. My first bite.......was my last due to the syrup that is imbedded in the outside pancake bun. Together, including the sausage the taste  I had in my mouth was overwhelmingly sweet......too much for me. two hours after we ate I took my son to the emergency room. He said his heart hurt. The doctor did an EKG… read full review »

McDonalds Southern Style Chicken Sandwich

McDonalds Southern Style Chicken Sandwich

I like the chance to try southern cooking in a quick sandwich.  It is crispy (but not to) has the right amount of flavor.  A change from burgers all the time.  Is pretty filling too.  I am usually with my grandchildren when eating at McDonalds, while they are enjoying their happy meals, and playing on the playgrounds, I can relax and have some southern fried chicken.  The chicken is not dry like most quick sandwiches are.  I was quite surprised by the flavor and have tried them several (too many lol)… read full review »

VillaWare Al Dente 5-piece Pasta Set

VillaWare Al Dente 5-piece Pasta Set
sleep deprived, have multiple food sensitivities, all about practical, multitasking master, a bargain hunter, mother of three, family oriented

JUL

2008
Short Version--I think the Al Dente 5-piece pasta set is probably a great buy and has the potential to make wonderful pasta. My problems with this product probably stem from an operator malfunction. If you are sleep deprived, trying to learn to make homemade pasta borders on insanity. Instead, read my next review on Tinkyada spaghetti noodles. If that's a bit much, throw caution to the wind and eat out. See details below: — I have never made pasta from scratch. I've made biscuits, pie crusts, cookies and cakes from scratch, but not pasta. After checking out a video on how to… read full review »

TGI Friday's

Whenever I visit a TGI FRIDAY'S restaurant I'm never satisfied.  First of all their menu is always changing, so you never know what you're going to order when you return.  Also, if you're someone who likes to have Soup N Salad added to their order, you'll be very disappointed, because at TGI FRIDAY'S these items are NOT included!  TGI FRIDAY'S can also be very pricey!  My poor Aunt went with us one Sunday, and she orderd a burger, a bowl of soup, and a beverage.  Her meal ended up costing her almost $25.00!  Needless to say she has now sworn that she'll… read full review »

McDonalds McGriddle

I realize that in the breakfast sandwich world, the choices are limited.  Usually some sort of egg, some sort of meat, some sort of bread substance....and the McGriddle follows all those basic sandwich rules, but to be really honest, they lost me completely when they decided that the sandwich was to have both cheese and maple syrup-two things that just don't seem to really meld-especially not with the synthetic gooey stuff that passes for cheese at MacDonalds.  I could handle the sausage (or bacon, or ham), the egg, the pancake (especially buttermilk)-then the whole thing just went… read full review »

Okay, so you have your healthy water bottle, and it is good and frosty cold, but it is soooo borrring....snore, yawn, snore...and the kids are screaming for something (probably sugary and not very nutritious).  Well, in the great words of Emeril "kick it up a notch" with True Orange crystals which come in lovely single serve packets that travel well in purse, lunchbox, pocket, etc-can leave them in the desk at work, the glove compartment of the car, even out in the garage or garden shed.  You get 32 packets in a box (this stuff is such a deal at a bit over $3.50)  One packet… read full review »

McDonalds Southern Style Chicken Sandwich

McDonalds Southern Style Chicken Sandwich
a casual cook, eating out weekly

JUN

I was surprised to open one of my bredit card bills and there I found two coupons.  One was for a free Southern Style Chicken sandwich and one for the new Southern chicken breakfast on a biscuit.  Well, since they were absolutely free (not even the purchase of a beverage was required) we decided to take McDonald's up on their offer.  Big mistake.  The Chicken Sandwich was bland, no sauce of any kind,  just terrible.  The next morning we tried the chicken and biscuit.  Even worse.  I can not believe that this will be on the menu much longer. … read full review »

Oh how I love Coke Icees.  There is nothing more refreshing than this.  On extremely hot days, one sip refreshes.  My favorite is the cherry.  It is just right.  I like that it lasts for a really long time and that it is very flavorful.  If you get the chance, try any one of the flovors noffered, but I recommend the… read full review »

Taco Bell Cheesy Beefy Melt

Taco Bell Cheesy Beefy Melt

JUN

2008
I am long time taco bell fan and always look forward to their new offerings. In this instance, the hype was just that---hype. The cheesy beefy melt is very bland and the cheesy is a misnomer because of the paucity of cheese. I even gave it a second chance in case the preparer forgot something or did not put on the required amount of cheese. However, the second was just like the first so I will not be ordering this product… read full review »
