Large Beautiful Roses, Bright Green Leaves, Strong Healthy Plants

I have used miracle grow on flowers and vegetables for over 10 years ago and always loved the results I got from it. Since buying this house I am in now I have tried my hand at a Rose Garden. I choose the Gold Medal Rose Bush and have 7 of them on top of my tornado shelter in a 14' x 14' x 2' raised garden. I used Miracle Grow's root starter to get them started on the right foot. Then I used All Purpose Miracle Grow to make them to help them grow big, strong and beautiful.

How it Works

Miracle Grow All Purpose is a 24-8-16 blend of nutrients, which is Nitrogen -Phosphorus - Potassium. Nitrogen for growth, Phosphorus for roots and buds and Potassium for the health and vigor of the plant. One treatment is all you need every 2 weeks, they say 7 to 14 days and I opt for the latter to prevent too rapid of a growth which can be just as harmful as not feeding a plant and forgetting to water it. I planted my Gold Medal Roses in lat May and by the end of June I had beautiful full blooms on all 7 Rose Bushes.

I received my bushes at a height of about 12" high with nice leaves and a healthy root system. By the end of August I had Rose Bushes that were almost 30" tall and blooming very well. I attribute this to feeding them Miracle Grow every 2 weeks and watering them every other day. The weather here in Kansas can be brutal to plants as the wind is always drying everything up so bad.

As you will see in the pictures I uploaded here, the roses get full sun and shade at the same time. These roses are intended for full sun, so using Miracle Grow helps me grow them better. Although some are shorter because of having a lot of shade they are still full and beautiful. Miracle Grow has made me very pleased with my first attempt at a Rose Garden. My Mom and Dad would have loved to see them as they grew Roses while I was growing up. I am sure they are looking down and smiling though, they would be proud!

Every 2 weeks when I applied my Miracle Grow I would water the Roses for about 2 hours with a sprinkler that you can set the amount of water dispensed. I give them the equivalent of about 1" of water during this feeding and then with watering them every other day with about 1 gallon per plant. Which with the soil I have turns out to be just about right. I also have 4" of mulch on top of the soil to help preserve the water that the wind tries to evaporate.

I also would feed my vegetable garden their fix of Miracle Grow once every 2 weeks. I had a great garden and this past years was the best I ever had. I attribute that not just too the Miracle Grow but also the composting I started recently. My neighbor behind me has the same size garden but he doesn't use Miracle Grow and mine was twice as fruitful as his was. He does compost so that helps but the right nutrition is essential for good growth.

My wife likes Elephant Ear Plants so this year I also fed her plants with Miracle Grow and they got almost 5' around and 4' tall they loved this stuff and she was happy they grew so well.

Bottom Line

I will continue to use Miracle Grow and help my plants to be Happy, Healthy and Beautiful. They say Thank You to me every time I feed them, not in words but in how beautiful they are sitting out there and standing watch over the house. There Beautiful Golden petals emitting that wonderful citrus like scent that attracts the bees and helps them grow.

I got 2 George Burns Roses for my wife and they sent some "Rose Food" with them, we tried it and nothing...so I used the Miracle Grow on them and BAM they bloomed and grew nicely. They only got about a month of growth before fall hit hard, but they should take off good this spring.

I never thought to put Miracle Gro on my roses! I always go for the pricey rose food which I probably don't need to do. I always thought roses were really hard to grow but I find the less I fuss with them, the better they grow.

But well worth it, I get compliments from the neighbors and friends that come over. I like my garden ;-)
