I love to do my gardening in containers and a few years ago Miracle grow came out with  a Moisture Control Potting Mix and this is a must have if you do, do container gardening because it is:

  • Has natural fiber technology to absorb excess water and release it to the plant as needed.
  • Protects against over- and under-watering.
  • Has Miracle-Gro® Plant Food mixed in the soil.
  • Ideal for all container gardeners

That's right, it will save you from watering the heck out of your potted babies and if you do, it will absorb the excess and give your plants little drinks here and there (This is a plus for me because I carry a 5 gal bucket of water from my bath tub to my plants every day, two to three times in a watering).  I like it that it also contains the Miracle-Gro plant food so it will take care of your plants all season long. No extra feeding and growing plants with Miracle-Gro is a must. I really do get larger and bountiful plants and veggies.  This is such a great combo and I will never use another type of potting soil again.

You can find this great potting soil at: Wal-mart, Shopko and your favorite garden center.

available sizes:

  • 64 qt. Bag
  • 32 qt. Bag
  • 1 cu. ft. Bag
  • 2 cu. ft. Bag
  • 16 qt. Bag
  • 8 qt. Bag

My husband built flower boxes for our front porch. We needed to water the flowers daily or they would wilt so we decided to buy this product (moisture control). On three occassions on a sunny day I have found the moisture control smoldering. My husband used wolverized wood to build the boxes and I don't know if a chemical reaction with the wood and soil cause this to happen. There is no other explanation. This never happened with regular soil and of course only happens when it's (the soil) dry. Does anybody else have this problem?
