Ummm...I wouldn't say perfection.....

3 star rating

a serious cook, willing to pay for quality, practical, cost-conscious, looking for durability, into trying new things
Pros

they are super sharp AT FIRST, lifetime replacement, probably worth $40.00, variety of knives, have had them many years

Cons
steep shipping for replacements, nameplates fell off, not as great as they say, they get dull..they claim never will, don't come with a block...extra $

I am sure you have all seen the infomercials for the Miracle Blade III Perfection Series Knife Set..right? Well, I bought them. I NEVER buy stuff from infomercials, but my husband and I both love to cook, and wanted them real bad. I resisted for a couple of years thinking they were probably junk...then I saw a demonstration at my State Fair. Pretty impressive, and two inches from my face, so they convinced me. Plus I would not have to pay shipping, and they were giving two bonus gifts with it. A juicer and some chamois. It was my husband's birthday in a few days and thought it would make the perfect gift.

You get 5 different knives, plus 4 steak knives, kitchen shears, an extra bread slicer and a couple of bonus gifts for $39.95. Depending on if you order them or get them at a demonstration, there may also be a $19.95 shipping charge - yes, $19.95! (see website at miracleblade.com).

I gotta say, they were pretty darn sharp. Did everything the commercials said...but only for about a year. Don't get me wrong. They are still sharp to this day, but not Miracle Blade sharp anymore. Not to mention, half of the nameplates fell off and one of the knives slightly bent.

So.....I thought I would be clever and bring them back to the fair that coming year and demand a new set. WRONG. They said they are not allowed to accept returns and I had to call the customer service number (which he gave to me) and mail them back. When I found out that the shipping would cost me half of what I paid for the set, I said forget it. So now I am stuck with my 75% sharp knives with no nameplates left on them. But I will say that they are still my primary set of knives I use.

The reason I would recommend them to a friend is because they are pretty good knives, but not as amazing as they lead you to believe. They will work for you for years, but don't be too impressed with the lifetime replacement warranty. I am giving these knives a 3 star rating.

We liked them a little better, you can see the review at http://www.infonotmercial.com/miracle-blade-review.html Mostly because we got it through Amazon so didn't have to pay for shipping. They must have fixed the nameplate issue. Lots of people mentioned that issue but they're still stuck on ours.
