I rarely get constipated, but on those odd occasions I need a product that will be gentle, not taste bad, and work for me. This I have found with Mralax Polyethylene Glycol 3350 Powder Laxative, prescription strength. Previously I have tried similar products that haven't mixed into the water, and have tasted awful. Miralax is easy to use, just add 0.5 ounce (17 g) to a 4 - 8 ounce beverage. This can be anything you enjoy drinking. I drink decaffeinated coffee or water, that is it. So first I tried it in water, and it completely dissolved. It did turn the water a light yellow color, but I couldn't smell it or taste it. The next time was in my coffee, and again it dissolved, and didn't spoil my coffee. I take mine just before bedtime, and then find after a hot cup of coffee the following morning, it performs for me. I only use it once or twice a month, so it doesn't work out too expensive for me. However, if you use it often then this is not cheap. It should not be used for more than 7 days in a row. Effectiveness I have a bowel movement the following morning. Ease of Use Add to any drink. Immediacy I take it at night, and it works the next day.

I suffer from chronic constipation and have tried most of the laxatives out there to ease my discomfort. I've adjusted my diet, increased my exercise, but this is just one of those things that I constantly have to keep an eye on. I know that using laxatives long term is a bad idea, so when my doctor recommended Miralax I picked up a bottle. He told me that this would be a gentle way to get things moving... and gradually so. He was right, but it worked even better than that. For the first time in my life I'm able to use the bathroom every day and I feel so much better. Before I would suffer from bloating and gas, and always be self conscious about both. Now it's a relief knowing that I don't have to worry about that constantly. I haven't noticed any bad side effects at all and I only need to use it a few times per week to keep things moving. It dissolves easily and doesn't thicken like Benefiber. I am very happy with Miralax and will continue to use it!

My daughter has always had constipation problems since she was a tiny baby. We tried all kinds of natural remedies and nothing ever seemed to work, and after a while, she was just scared to use the bathroom because she knew it hurt. So we started giving this to her and it worked wonders. She had no side effects, and after a couple of weeks of us giving her Miralax regularly, she realized that she didn't have to be scared to go potty, and now she's doing great! I would definately reccomend this product.

I moved in with my grandmother over the summer to be her live-in helper because of a resent hospitalization.  I couldnt get to the store for the first 3 days because I was so busy, and for other reasons.  So I lived on some random snack type food and candy for those first days.  When I became constipated I felt sooo uncomfortable.  I told my grandmother about it and she told me she has something that would fix it and that happened to be miralax.  So I took it and was so amazed.  There was no taste at all, and I could swallow it with the water with no chalky chunky after taste.  But then at 3 in the morning I awoke to unbelievable stomach cramps.  I sat on the toliet for about 2 hours in so much pain it was unbarible.  I thought I was going to die at one point.  No where on the bottle does it say that first time users should use less than what is normally taken.  So I basically took what the bottle said, and suffered for it.

My son used to have sever constipation and at one stage he was scared to poop as it was hurting him. We tried some natural remedies but nothing worked, even fibre high diets, high water intake but nothing helped. Finally our pediatrician recommended Miralax than other generics. Though I found some negative reviews about it online, I trusted my pediatrician it worked wonders. Initially it will be difficult till the intestine is cleared of its blockage. He was pooping irregularly and we had some diffcult times. But after a few weeks, his habits were regularised and he was not scared anymore. After a few months, we changed to alternative days, and still he was doing fine. Finally, now after a year and half, we are giving him once in a week only. But his system works fine and he poops daily and because of that his hunger has increased. He eats a lot and his growth is also good. My pediatrician see good growth in him. My only advice to those suffering parents is don't be scared that your kid will become addicted to Miralax. I was also like you but now I realise that my fears were needless. I will recommended it and will recommend to anyone!!it makes your life much easier, literally!!

My Ped. recommend this product for both of my youngest daughters constipation issues.  This stuff is great.  it doesn't not have any sort of flavor to it and can be added to basicly any drink.  My girls both had constipation issues as babies and as any mother knows, these can be very difficult to resolve. After trying many natural methods to ease their discomfort, I purchased this product.  It comes in a granular Constancy, is easy to dose and mixes well with most liquids.   the babies do not even know it is there. there were no refusal of liquids with this mixed into it.  Contact your child's doctor for the appropriate dosages, usually recommended by your  age and weight.  This medication takes several days to produce results, so do not delay in giving it to your child ( after asking your doctor of course) once you see constipation has begun.  My daughters would take a daily dose for approximatly a week and become regulated.

I have to be so graphic, but I do have a very severe case of hemorrhoids; thus at times making it difficult to use the restroom.  Miralax has proven to be a very mild and extremely gentle laxative when I am in such a dire need.  Whenever I do take this laxative, I always put it with a liquid of some type; i.e. sevenup, orange juice and I have mixed it with water before which is not my favorite.  I do not have any major cramps with this product.  I always manage to keep a bottle or two (when it goes on sale) in my cabinet at all times.

I have suffered from constipation all of my long life and age has made it much worse.  I was introduced to Miralax when the preparation for my colonscopy listed it as a requirement.  After it worked for that, I thought it would be good to try for regular constipation.  The directions on the bottle says it works within three days, and that's exactly how long it takes for me.  I have used laxatives that worked faster, but this one causes no cramping or other stomach pain like they did.  I wish it worked faster, but I continue using it to prevent intestinal pain.  I just dissolve it in plain water and notice no taste at all.  I've used lots of laxatives over a lot of years, and I've continued with this one longer than any other.  Through talking to friends I have found that it works much quicker for them, and I am aware that my chonic constipation is a problem that will probably never have a perfect solution.

Constapation.. I definately never like becing constipated. Unfortunately do to medical conditions I have to live on pain medications. Unfortunately with many pain medications the have a major side affect that affects many people such as myself. There are so many medications that are prescribed for people whom are constipated.  some problem that I have found with so many of them. 1.  They take so long to start working for me that I am extremely uncomfortable. 2.  They have extremely discusting tastes. 3.  They mostly are for softening the bowels, but not enough to resolve problems caused by many pain medications. My doctor introduced me to this.  It was amazing how fast that it started doing what it says that it will do. With this, I can mix this with most beverages and I can not even tell that it is in the beverage. Personally, I mix it in with orange juice, which is beneficial in its part, so not only do I get a medication to help me with my problem, but also I have a fruit. Personally, I definately will recomend this to anyone that I know that need a medicine like this. Also, it is available as a prescription medication, and is available as an over-the-counter medication. This is great for some people who has a great prescription medicine insure that will cover this type of a medicine

My daughter uses this often. She is 9 years old and her pediatrician suggested Miralax because it is gentle and safe to use for extended periods of time. She has no trouble taking this because it mixes completely into ANY warm or cold beverage. It is very smooth, not gritty at all and it's totally tasteless! The best part is that the results are great. I tell everyone about Miralax for constipation/regularity help!
