Aids in relieving strains, aches, and pains

4

I have tried so many topical pain relieving creams and gels, including over the counter and prescription. They all tend to have similar qualities. I suffer from osteoarthritis and get some pretty intense pain in my lower back. I also like to have topical pain products on hand for when myself or my kids strain or pull a muscle. Mineral Ice Original Therapeutic Pain Relieving Gel works well at helping to manage strains, aches, and pains. I like to use this in combination with pain pills to manage my back pain. This provides a nice cooling/numbing effect. It is a blue gel that dries clear. I have never had a problem with it staining my clothing but I do wait for it to dry before allowing it to come in contact with my clothing. It does have a minty smell but it is not as strong and overpowering as a lot of topical pain gels. The smell tends to go away rather quickly. It is not very expensive and is widely available.

Like an invisable ice pack!

I have a bad back injury and need to use ice frequently to alleviate pain. Mineral ice is great to use when I cant sit with an ice pack on my back. I use Mineral Ice at work, while shopping or walking the dogs! Mineral Ice has a pleasant mild smell that fades fast. The cooling sensation really helps me get through my day! I dont know if Mineral Ice available in travel sizes. That would be very convenient. Also, I wish there was a way to apply Mineral Ice with out getting it on your hands. Mineral Ice would work better if it had an applicator of some kind. Mineral Ice is very difficult to wash off your hands and if you accidentally get Mineral Ice in your eyes it really hurts! Mineral Ice goes on blue but it dries clear. I havent had any difficulty with Mineral Ice staining my clothing but I would advise that you let it dry thouroughly befor allowing Mineral Ice to touch your clothing, just in case!

Great Product!

This is one of those products where you are glad you took a chance I got and you have it on hand all the time. This product works very well for deep tissue aches and pains, as it really does penetrate deep in the place where you are massaging it into the skin. I like that you can really tell it is working because it is tingling in that place. I personally think it works best on the knees and shoulders for me. I have gotten so much relief since I began using this product. I have yet to get to a place where it stops working because I have been using it for such a long time, as it has continued to work really well for me and my particular issues. I should also mention the smell of it does take some getting used to as it is very strong and tends to linger on for quite awhile. It is not much different from some of the other medications on the market, however this one seems to be a bit stronger smelling. Despite that, I highly recommend it for body aches and joint pains.

cooling relief

As a 62 year old woman , I have experience my share of aches and pains and have tried a plethora of products for topical and systemic pain relief. I suffer from arthritis and this Mineral Ice is one of the products I have used for pain relief in my neck , particularly . When I suffer from pain in my lower neck, either from sleeping the wrong way , an air conditioner or fan blowing on my neck while sleeping, etc. , I often apply this Mineral Ice .It is a blue gel that is topically applied - almost immediately, you can feel a cooling effect , which numbs the pain and brings the relief similar to an ice pack without the wetness or extremes of cold . Then it warms up and penetrates the muscle . Overall , it is very effective for stiff neck pain or stiff shoulders . Thus is my " go to " product for those two areas when I am in pain. It smells a little " minty " like a lighter version of Vicks so the smell may bother people with sensitive noses but the results are quite effective and almost immediate .

Decent topical relief

I like to use mineral ice on achy or injured muscles because it makes that area of my body feel less painful. The cool feeling of mineral ice soothes my injured or sore muscles. This item does have a medicine smell so other people around you will smell it, which I did not like. It is also pretty messy because I like to put a good application on my skin so it sinks in well. As a result I find that I need to wear an old shirt or use paper towels so that I do not ruin furniture. I like that it is not an oral medicine but topical. I like the thick consistency because it stays where you put it and does not run down your skin. I have used it on my lower back and shoulders with great success. It makes me feel at ease when I use it and allows me to relax the injured area. I wish the cool sensation lasted longer because I find that I need to reapply it multiple times a day. Overall I like the results.

Classic and affordable

Mineral Ice has seemingly been around forever, and most people probably remember seeing it around. It works well for muscle aches and such, but that is pretty much it. It does have a good soothing sensation though, so if muscle aches are your main priority, this will do, especially after a tough workout. There is a very strong scent that comes from it though, like menthol times 20. So its probably better to use it at home rather than bringing it out somewhere to use. You'll also want to wash your hands after using it, as with most of these you don't want to get it in your eyes or mouth accidentally, this one especially. Its a gel that you rub on from the jar, so expect to get it on your hands as well as the muscle/pain you're rubbing it on. It does work quickly, but don't use it for something that lingers as it seems like putting it on all the time would be a pain, and of course walking around with the strong smell isn't something you want.

Except for the scent

It never fails! Every time I am in the midst of my cycle - craps, cravings and serious back pain. I have started to use Mineral Ice Pain Relieving Gel as my go to product - mainly at night only or, if I'm going to be inside my home without non family outside company. As silly as that might sound, I am very self conscious about the extra strong scent that can be easily detected from across the room. It makes me feel like an old woman. It can also be quite irritating to the eyes so you need to ensure that you wash your hands very thoroughly right after application and be careful not to rub your eyes as well. The positives about using mineral ice for me is that it is very inexpensive and it works right away. No need to wait 30 minutes or more for oral pain meds to kick in. Another benefit of the pain relieving gel is that it provides long lasting relief. For me - on a more personal note - I also experience no nausea caused by taking oral pain relievers. Although I don't like the scent it leaves on my clothing or in the air in general, I love the effectiveness and relief it provides. It's a trade off that I am willing to accept.

Great Alternative to Stinky, Greasy Creams

4

I've seen Mineral Ice around for ages and never actually purchased any until one day my favorite brand of pain relieving gel was out of stock and I grabbed a jar of this instead. It was an interesting experience. I found that this was especially effective at easing the stiffness in my shoulders after I did quite a bit of hauling bags of mulch around in my yard and spreading them. It went to work right away and I felt normal again in under an hour. What I really like about this product which has inspired me to purchase it again over other creams and balms is that it is a gel. It absorbs quickly and thoroughly, leaving your skin dry and not sticky or greasy. It's almost like applying aloe vera gel. If you rub your hand over the area you can tell something is there but otherwise you'd never even know. This does not have a horrible smell to it like many brands tend to have. It does have some smell but it's actually rather pleasant and refreshing rather than overpowering and sneeze inducing. This comes in a smaller eight ounce jar and a larger sixteen ounce jar. I usually purchase the smaller jar just for freshness sake, but if you use a lot of it the larger jar is definitely a better value. This is effective, easy to use, smells quite nice, and is reasonably priced. I definitely recommend it to those who are looking for an alternative to stinky, greasy creams.

There are better products.

Mineral Ice Original Therapeutic Pain Relieving Gel is one of the weakest topical pain relieving gels on the market, in my opinion. You have to keep reapplying it constantly if you want it to continue to work. I workout frequently and end up with sore muscles. I have tried many different topical pain relievers. I tried this one on a whim one day. I only bought it once because it was not as effective a similar products. This gel has a strong menthol scent so you would not want to apply this and then go into public. It works quickly at relieving muscle pain. The problem is it only lasts for a very short period of time. The heat from it does not even last an hour before you have to reapply it. There is no reason to use this product when you have to reapply it constantly. I do not recommend this product. There are much better options out there that you don't have to reapply so frequently.

Not Bad - Other Products Work Better

3

I have a jar of this at my home. It is probably expired by now though, because I have found that other products of this nature work better. The purpose of this products is to rub it on your muscles that are hurting you, and it will relieve the pain at that moment, and hopefully relax your muscles so that the pain does not come back (or at least as strong as it was). I used it for this - but I felt that after an hour or two, the relief wore off and I was back to where I started. It is also not in an easy-to-use package like some of the other brands. You have to scoop it out with your fingers to rub it on yourself. One thing I always worry about with stuff like this is bacteria. When it is in tube form, you are really only touching the stuff that comes out. When it is in a package like this, your bacteria or whatever was on your hand stays in the jar and grows. With that said, one good thing about this product is it is cheaper than some of the other brands.
