Scattergories is a really fun game to play, and it is most fun with lots of people.  It would make a great gift for a family because it's something they could all do together.  Up to six people can play at a time, however, they would have to be old enough to read and spell on their own.

When you purchase Scattergories, you'll receive 6 folders, 48 category cards, 1 answer pad, 6 pencils, 10-sided die, 6 plastic clip strips, timer, die-rolling board, and instructions.  How the game works is very simple.  You simply roll the dice (which has letters instead of numbers)  and whatever letter the...

Scattergories is another board game I remember from my childhood. This was always one that the grown ups and younger kids could play together. This is the perfect family game.

The game can be played with 2 to 4 players. It's recommend age is 12 and up but my 11 year old sister in law played and did just fine. Included in the game is 6 folders, 1 answer pad, 20 sided die, 48 category cards, timer, die-rolling board and 6 pencils.

To play you first select your category card. Once a card is chosen you roll the die. On each category card there are certain things listed, like nicknames, things...

What is it?
Scattergories is a board game for 2-6 players.  Scattergories is a word game.  A die is rolled and a letter is chosen.  Then each player must fill their answer pad categories with only words that start with that letter.  It's a lot harder than it sounds!   A round only lasts a short time and when time is up, answers are compared.  If your answers match another player's, no points are awarded. If no one matches your answer, you get a point.  At the end of the game, the person with the most points wins!

My Viewpoint!
I love this game. I rock at this...

We are big boardgame lovers and have Family Game Night with our kids as well as get grown up game night with other family members that come over and Parker Brothers The Game of Scattergories is one that gets pulled out constantly. Everyone loves it and has a great time with it. We never get tired of it and are so glad we purchased it.  I had seen it on the shelves at our local Walmart for quite some time and was always interested in it but never pulled the trigger and bought it.  Then I happened across a review of it and everyone seemed to love it so I went to Walmart that evening specifically...
