Milton Bradley Disney High School Musical Twister Moves is not your Twister game from years ago. My daughter received this as a birthday gift when she turned 8 and I was thinking spinner and big mat with colors. Wow--Twister has changed a lot.

How to play:

This game has two small mats, so it is designed for no more than two players at a time. A CD comes with it and a man and a woman call out various colors. It's important to notice who is calling what because you are supposed to step with one foot when the guy speaks and the other foot when the lady speaks. They also add a few other movements with hands and hops.

The CD has a short practice session at the beginning and then it moves quickly through lots of combination moves. It has four songs from the movie on it as well.

My Viewpoint:

Milton Bradley Disney High School Musical Twister Moves was VERY challenging for my 8-year-old and 5-year-old. They would have done much better with a spinner and a slower speed. If the CD had been a DVD where several people were doing the moves on TV, I think they would have tried this game for longer. I tried to demonstrate some of the moves and they seemed to get it a lot better, but it was especially hard for them to figure out when to step with which foot.

My suggestion would be to put an older age on this game. There are lots of people who have difficulty with coordinating movements, and the old Twister was a very simple game that didn't require a lot of coordination. I think this game would be a lot more fun with a DVD and I think it should have more than two mats.

I would only recommend this to people who enjoy dancing or cheerleading or who feel pretty coordinated and are up for a challenge.

I think honing in on the listening skills sounds important with this game but I'm with you, just a little too much coordination for the younger children. I would get confused trying to figure out who just told me to place a hand or a foot and I've been dancing for years ;+)
