Milk Bones are a great way to treat your dog. You do want to be careful with them, however, as they are very high in calories. What I used to do when I first got my dogs, is that whenever I would leave the house, for work or whatever, I would crate or kennel the dogs, and give them each a treat, and talk to them, saying "I'll be back soon." This way they learned not to stress themselves out, from being left alone, and also that when they got a treat, it meant I was coming back soon. So they learned they were not being abandoned.
I do not recommend using these as treats for training. You should reward a dog in training with PRAISE, as a dog will work for YOU so much better than he will work for food. And remember what I said earlier, these treats are VERY HIGH in calories, so if you plan on treating your dog a lot, you may want to consider cutting back a little on his daily food ration; after all, you don't want an overweight dog.
Also, if you have more than one dog, the dog treats can get a little spendy. You cannot very well give one treat on just one dog; dogs are like kids. If they see one getting a treat, and they don't get one, they begin wondering why, and jealousy starts to set in. So if you don't have enough treats for ALL dogs, don't give any.
