This contractor is totally incompetent

We employed Mike Deiter when he assured us that he could build an addition on to our home. People who knew of small jobs he had done agreed that he was OK. He was a disaster from the start and we should have fired him almost immediately. We kept holding out hope that he would get it done. After two months, our house was still in shambles. The building inspector kept refusing to sign-off on what had been done. Of course, according to Mike Deiter, the building inspector was at fault. Finally, he came by one day with his lawyer and told us that he had to pull out of the job. We were happy to see him go. Our worry was finding someone to take over, but we were lucky to find another contractor who was trustworthy and got the addition done properly and to our satisfaction (and to the satisfaction of the building inspector!)
